I never have to nag him about anything. If he forgets to do something, which is rare, he remembers on his own and does it.
We check-in throughout the day via messenger, even though we both WFH.
We cook together. Clean together. And if I do something without him (and vice versa) we thank each other for getting it done. Basically, acknowledging the other person’s labor on a task.
When things get imbalanced, we sit down and talk about how to return to a balance so that neither of us feels overwhelmed or burnt out.
I know some of these are big things, but throughout the day they just feel like small and normal things in my day. It’s nice to have a partner.
He makes a great sandwich. We (very happily) have our own rooms. It took me a long time to realize he would refill my humidifier regularly without my noticing. Sometimes makes my bed for me. I’ll admittedly often have to ask and remind, but he’ll do any task/chore. And his relationship with the cats. I’m jealous but it’s adorable haha.
My favourite is that one of the cats seems to wait for my bf to get home, so he can tell him about his day. He’ll start meowing and waiting by the door or front window around the time when bf gets home, then once he’s in, he starts LOUDLY meow-yapping at him non stop, even if he’d been otherwise quiet the rest of the day.
