Sorry. Using ricotta is good too but cottage cheese is great in lasagna. Before you come at me my Italian grandmother made it this way because we were broke and still does to this day. Ricotta has its place, sure, but I prefer the alternative

I’ve never had it that way, but I do hate when people put too much ricotta in lasagna, it makes it too sweet. I feel like cottage cheese would work, I’m gonna agree with you
