TIFU by watching mass shooting videos at school

r/

I hate school. I have trouble paying attention so often times I’ll just scroll through Reddit or YouTube on my phone. I’m not the most into true crime but occasionally I’ll get a true crime video or police body cam video recommend to me and I’ll watch it out of curiosity. And sometimes it will be police body cam of a mass shooting or school shooting documentary and sometimes I watch that too. At school. Doesn’t justify but I kinda let my morbid curiosity take over (and I’m an idiot). Which just leads to more of those videos getting recommended. I got asked why I watch these videos and this is going to be messed up but because it’s kinda “cool” watching the police navigate the area/school and arrest the shooter and the documentary are interesting insight as to how/why someone would do that, it’s NOT because I want to replicate anything I see in these videos. Just to be clear I don’t watch these videos all the time (I mostly watch cooking videos) or even look for them. Neither are they “gory”. Well today I got called to the deans office because students (many) saw me watching these videos and reported me. Like I know it’s my fault I shouldn’t have done that but I’m
Just so embarrassed and upset. I have no friends and a total loner and loser but I have never hurt anyone. I don’t even own a gun. I got sent home and I can’t show my face at school again.

TL;DR watched mass shooting videos at school, got reported, got sent to the deans office then sent home.

I think I know why you have trouble paying attention at school. Literally leave your phone in your pocket, or better in your locker. Future you will thank you

It’s just bad luck. Everyone doom scrolls. Everyone finds dark rabbit holes. I’m on tornado disasters atm.

BUT… location, location, location. Keep some of that stuff to certain hours and places.

And on another note, take care of yourself. Don’t stay too much inside your own head. Break up your routine sometimes. Chin up.

I’m just imagining being a student, listening to the lesson and seeing the quiet kid in front of me watching multiple videos of school shootings. That would be terrifying
