Just was thinking about this as all over the world we see the use of skin-lightning products and such?
Just like there are countries and cultures that view dark skin as “bad” or “undesirable” is there anywhere in the world where it’s vice versa and light skin is frowned upon?

I don’t know why. I’m a white guy; our genetics are usually fucking terrible. Why would you want to be susceptible to sunburn. 🙁
Yes. Europe and North America. For white people it’s often considered desirable to have tanned (darker) skin. People believe it indicates health and perhaps is also a sign of wealth, that you can afford to go on holiday and spend time sunbathing.
People even use chemicals on their skin to make it look like they have a dark sun tan when they actually haven’t been in the sun. There are services that apply these chemicals to people’s skin in return for money.
