What do kids use for drawing and colouring in your country?

r/

A random thought just struck me – what do kids from different countries use for drawing and colouring, and which brands if you know/remember? I’m still traumatised from Berol felt tip pens that were in my primary school 😉

Is there a main brand or two (like Switzerland – Caran D’Ache, Germany – Staedtler/Faber-Castell) or is it more varied?

Thanks! =)

I remeber we got a nice set of Caran D’Ache pencils in primary school – so you’re about right 🙂

JOLLY is an Austrian brand of drawing material for kids and it’s pretty much everywhere, dominating the shelves in the art supply aisle of stationary and office supply shops all over the country. They do colored pencils, crayons, felt tip markers, watercolor and so on. https://jolly.at/

Colouring pencils. I remember brands like Giotto, Faber Castell and Caran d’Ache being a thing, although there were other cheaper off-brand names too

We used to have Bruynzeel pencils, however Staedtler could be found as well.

Regarding the velt tip pens I don’t recall a brand.

Something else I remember vividly is Wasco crayons. Wasco used to be a brand name, but every crayon is called a wasco, however we do have a name for it ‘waskrijt’.
