One thing that’s always amused me about the US is that, at restaurants, it’s common that you can order eggs “your way,” with styles such as hard boiled, sunny side up, scrambled, etc. It seems that the expectation is that you can ask for eggs cooked any way you want.
Growing up, my (Chinese) parents often made steamed eggs, which are made by mixing beaten eggs with water before steaming. This was my favorite way of eating eggs, and I ate it a lot because you can microwave instead of steam and get the same result.
However, I’ve never seen any restaurant in the US offer steamed eggs as an option, despite them offering seemingly every way of cooking eggs under the sun. Are they just not a thing here? Have you ever had steamed eggs in the US?

It’s not really a thing outside of areas that received large amounts of East Asian immigrants.
I’ve had it when I was living in Korea for a couple years, but I’ve never seen it in the US outside of a few restaurants geared towards Asian-Americans.
I’ve never seen steamed eggs in a typical breakfast setting.
