Which part of the UK do you think has the best scenery or landscapes?

r/

Hey everyone!
I’m planning a vacation to the UK and I’m really excited to explore some beautiful landscapes and scenery. I’ve heard so much about the stunning views across the country, but I’m hoping to get some recommendations from locals or people who have traveled widely in the UK.

Which parts of the UK do you think have the best scenery? Whether it’s rolling hills, dramatic coastlines, picturesque villages, or majestic mountain ranges – I’m open to all suggestions!

I’m looking for spots that are not just pretty to look at but also offer something unique, whether that’s a great hiking trail, hidden gems, or just a quiet place to escape. Any tips on the best places to visit, especially in areas that might not be as well-known to tourists, would be much appreciated.

Thanks so much in advance

North Wales is stunning , don’t goto Snowdon as it’s very touristy but so much more to see that’s just hidden beauty

It’s really a matter of personal preference, as all the National Parks and AONBs are stunning in their own way. It’s hard to compare the rolling hills of the Downs to the much more rugged landscape of Snowdonia.

Glencoe in Scotland is fucking incredible. I had underestimated how nice it would be (pure ignorance on my part) and didn’t build in any time to stop and explore it during a driving holiday around Scotland; immediately regretted that, although it must be said that even the drive through it was breathtaking. Every bend in the road brought incredible new views; mountains, valleys, huge beautiful vistas.

As much as I agree with places like the Peak District (a place dear to me) and the Lake District (also very beautiful), Scotland has the scenery thing locked down.

Oh, I have just thought of another; Kielder Forest park is worth a visit, but go at night and look up – it’s a dark sky area and on a clear night is absolutely spellbinding.

The lakes and dales are both amazing, Brecon Beacons is another and i don’t see it get mentioned as much. But number 1 has to be Glencoe, the highlands are just another beast compared to the UKs other national parks.

As someone who grew up in the south, lived in the midlands, frequented Wales and now lives in Scotland I would 100% say Scotland! There’s almost too many places for me to recommend, the islands can look stunning like beaches in the Carribbean with clear waters, highland mountains etc stunning, mid belt is more cities Glasgow is probably the same as any other City but Edinburgh is well worth a visit, all over has tonnes of castles and ruins etc x

North Atlantic coast of Northern Ireland.

All other answers claiming other locations are false news posts.
