I‘m sure there are differences in mentality and lifestyle in different regions in the US, but on average, would you say Americans are more close to like scandinavian countries, central european countries, western european countries, southern european countries, eastern european countries?

Western Europe, I guess, but its kind of a silly question without a meaningful…much less accurate….answer.
Service men and women coming home have always said Germans live more closely to how we do.
If we’re just casting unbelievably broad stereotypes, probably Germany.
Been to Europe for work many times now. Honestly nothing feels like home. But for the most similar it’s probably the UK or Germany.
Poland? They seem to like us pretty well.
Ireland for day to day interactions(my opinion of course)
I’ve read that some British say that Americans are Germans who speak English.
When I lived in rural Bavaria, (Germany) the culture didn’t seem THAT different. Yes, it was more walkable than American towns, but most people lived in a house, (not some brutalist box) had a car or two, and had a lawn. A good number of them went to church, they had “good ol’ boys” who’d go to the cafe on Saturday mornings for breakfast, (with a tall breakfast beer, of course) and they even sold Confederate flags at the local hardware store. That one shocked me, I admit.
