When you’ve achieved the things you already wanted in life. What’s next?

r/

I’ve just entered my 30s and found that most things I wanted to achieve in my life. I already did in my 20s. I’m not sure what’s next and what else I want to do.

Whenever I get recommendations on places to go or things to try or things to see all I can say is that I’ve already done it and I’m having trouble finding new ideas and inspirations for things. So most days I find myself in loops of doing the same things over and over. Going to the same places. Eating at the same restaurants. Watching the same movies.

What I would really like is to explore new things and I’m having a hard time finding out how.

Any help or insight would be much appreciated, thank you!

I’m assuming you are already well off.

Learn a trade. Learn to create something with your hands.

Life is more than see of things to do but a way to live and inspire others. What’s your purpose in this life? Who can you help? How can you get better for yourself and others around you?

Do you have any pre-existing hobbies?

Are there any new hobbies you’ve looked into, or are mildly curious about?

Once’s you’ve achieved the things you wanted in life then put more focus on mind and body. I started doing this in my late 30s and loving it. Took running serious then started training for a marathon through a coach. Taught me a lot about myself including discipline. Biking, hiking, yoga, mediation, reading self help books. You can find out so much more about yourself through this my friend.

I’ve experienced this as well. I’ve achieved much in my career (much more than I ever really planned), I make a good living etc.

I have plenty of hobbies (DIY projects, brewing, gardening, cars, outdoors etc.)

    I also travel.

My personal life is where I set some challenges. See more countries, visit all 7 continents, see if I can build <project > etc.

However, I also help others decide and define their goals then advise them on achieving them. I have done this with travel, projects, endurance etc.

Give back by helping others. Teach them how to achieve their dreams, improve their situation or to just become a better person

Sounds like you need a change of scenery. There are no shortages of challenges out there or hobbies to dive into. I left Louisiana in my early 30’s for Colorado and took up mountain climbing. There are a million other activities out here besides, but any one of them could preoccupy you for a long time.

Another route people take, obvious as it may be, is having a child. They will take up a majority of your free time, but every day is something new and it’s more rewarding than you could imagine. Especially after crossing the 1 year mark. It’s almost scary how much they can learn from one day to the next. Sure, my son cut into my ability to leave the house at 11:00pm to drive out and climb 14ers last year, but that seems to be changing this year. It’s amazing having a little adventure buddy to re-explore the world with and learn to see the wonder in even the most innocuous of things again.
