It’s not like I’m not allowed to have a regualr smart phone, my parents ask me if I want a regular phone but I just don’t really want one. It can do most anything that a regular phone can do (call, text, etc) and on good days I can play solitaire if it doesn’t crash.

Smart phones were still fairly new when I was in high school but I chose to wait until midway through college to get one. I think you’re making the right decision! I teach 8th grade and I see the impact of smart phones on teens – it’s NOT good.
But does it have whatsapp? Or do you not need it

Same! But mine is a “smart” flip phone (with apps like Whatsapp and reddit).

Why are we calling smart phones “regular phones”? Anything more than voice calls is above and beyond actual regular phones.
Didn’t even have a cell throughout high school, graduated 2017. I got my first cellphone Nov 2024.
You’re doing good. Smartphones suck life away. Try to stay away from them. Flip phone like you said does everything you NEED. Good on you.
When I see someone using a flip phone my first thought is there a sex offender, there not allowed smart phones it can be one way to spot them

I had a flip phone TCL brand and I personally think it was a good phone, it had YouTube so that was definitely a plus!
