Looking for ideas for an awesome father(65) son(41)son(39) trip. Dad is still fit, active and healthy, my brother and I the same, and we want to make memories. We all love anything with a motor, fishing, good food and alcohol. Anywhere on the globe. All of us Adrenaline junkies that have slowed down due to family. No wives or kids.
Cheers

Swim with the whale sharks, reef sharks and mantarays on Ningaloo reef.
Plenty of great fishing as well in Exmouth Western Australia.
I enjoy participating in watersports with my dad.
Snorkeling, scuba, fishing.
Something about watersports brings families together.
Pacific Crest Trail – top recommendation
Machu Picchu
Two brothers hike in Rio de Janeiro
Hike around the Avenue of the Giants in northern CA
Snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef
rent a supercar and drive at maximum speed on the German Autobahn
Machu Picchu – don’t just visit, hike the trails.
Iceland
Munich for Oktoberfest
Raft the Grand Canyon
Scuba dive in Belize and the Great Barrier Reef
You could spend a week in Alaska. Great fishing opportunities up there – multi species of salmon, trout, halibut. You can be in close quarters in an RV, rent a cabin, or stay in a luxury resort with fine food and spirits. Some guides will fly you in on float planes to fish remote areas.
Do one of those rafts rides where someone kidnaps you and plays the banjo. You will remember that shit for life!!!!!
8 day Motorized raft trip down Grand Canyon. Most amazing trip ever. The milky way is amazing from the bottom…

New Zealand!, Queenstown for all manner of adventure activities in one town, mini jet ski submarines many versions (less back injury inducing) of bungy jumping, white water rafting, jetboating, fishing. HEAPS of great wineries, breweries and distilleries all over the nation.
MIlford Sound and the fjord lands and surrounding areas for amazing views
The whole country is pretty small so easy to get around. If flying internally try to take the smaller prop planes as they don’t do security screening and it just makes getting around faster and more enjoyable
Hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon.
White water rafting
I’m your age and just did one of these but with my son too – dad (75), me (41), and son (5) went to a sweet 16/elite 8 matchup this year and stayed for a long weekend, also going fishing and hiking.
It’s a little different when you’ve got a 5 year old – the drinking and the quality of restaurants inherently drops off, but it just depends what you’re into.
From the sounds of it with everyone being active – one of my favorite trips of my life has been a fly fishing + camping + driving trip around Iceland’s Ring Road. You’ll want a minimum of 8 days to enjoy it without being rushed and preferably 10+ but it’s beautiful, unique, and the fishing is great. You’ll get some really good reindeer pizza, hot dogs (actually good hot dogs) and great sea food throughout the trip with some legit 5 star dining in Reykjavik and to a lesser extent in Akureyri.
Boundary Waters Canoe Area!
