In older times people used to die of diseases we find ridiculous today, but those who did survive lived longer , healthier and happier lives than majority of the people today.

Survival of the fittest doesn’t necessarily mean the biggest and strongest survive. It means those most adapted ‘fit’ to their environment survive.
Medical science is survival of the fittest. We have adapted as a species to not die to those pesky pathogens thru medical science.
So I’m hearing that you’re fine with mourning the loss of someone because of a deadly disease from the past like the bubonic plague
Medical science is about finding a cure for death.
Say that again when you have a curable disease that would otherwise kill you without treatment
Not sure this is unpopular. Or an opinion
Oh goody, eugenics
Except survival of the fittest isn’t “the strongest survive and the weakest die”, it’s “the people who can adapt and live longer (pass down their genes too) survive and those who cannot adapt or pass down their genes die”.
Medical science is adapting, it is learning how to live longer which is survival of the fittest.
We’ve had medicine for thousands of years, it’s just been getting more advanced.
Survival of the richest is taking over baby! /s
Medical science is how humans adapted to dangerous diseases and injuries. Survival of the fittest is more than strength, it’s about being smart as well.
