So a couple days back, u took a private math class which I take weekly and my teacher forgot their phone at the table near me and went to do something else for a bit. Around 5 minutes later I found that his phone was unlocked so I wanted to go through his messages and cancel the class for next week, when I should’ve just asked him to do it. I got caught by the teacher, and he told me he won’t rat me out to my parents and at that moment I really felt guilty for betraying the trust of such an amazing man and I will forever regret it hoping he forgives me

A sincere apology will probably clear the air. You can ever write it in a letter if it’s easier. Tell the teacher everything you said here. Say you feel bad and you are embarrassed. That it’s not a reflection of the type of person you strive to be and that it was just an impulsive decision and that you hope you can rebuild some trust. Tell him you really respect him and look up to him and hope he can forgive you. Accountability goes a long long way!

This was extremely immature and foolish to do. It sounds like you learned a lesson from it. I would talk with the teacher. You could try writing them a very sincere apology letter too. Let them know that you not only feel bad but understand why it was wrong as well. You’re in school to learn both academics and social skills. This was a social learning moment. Do better moving forward.

I actually did that by putting a note in the door ! The teacher was pissed and said they knew who did it and that person should come forward and they wouldn’t get in that much trouble ! I knew they were full of shit and didn’t come forward. Beautiful day at the beach !
