how do i change my ways even tho this is all i’ve ever known 😭

r/

i went to school for maybe a month? when i was 6 and that was it. my parents never put me back in school. i remember when i was 12 they bought a few books that weren’t even for my grade and just left me to try and learn stuff but they didn’t care if i actually did it or not. so bc of that i just never did school. im now 18 and using penn foster to get my diploma but even with that i still dont have the motivation to do it. i hate being so lazy but i just can’t get myself to learn anything. idk how im gonna get a job or go to college and honestly my only option at this point is to end it

    shut up and study.
whatever happened was not your fault, but right now, if things go wrong, it WILL be your fault. you wouldn’t want to die blaming yourself, would you?

First thing is learn what kind of learner you are. Audio visual or tactile. Do you have to see the thing, hear the thing or repeat it yourself to understand.

Then just enjoy learning. YouTube for both visual and audio and then even try to do things yourself from YouTube. You could be great at many things without education. Welding, towing, electrical, plumbing.

Try to Get an apprenticeship or some sort of labor job. I think welding would be great, mechanic, builder, construction, concrete. All kinds of opportunities are out there. You can do it. Absolutely no reason to quit.

App called Skool is free and you can learn a bunch from there. Focus on basic writing spelling and math, then you can do anything. Clearly you can write and read. If you know basic math you can do most jobs. (Average reading level in the US is 3rd grade. You got this)

Finding a subject you’re interested in can help.
I don’t like learning things that I have to learn but when I find something I’m interested in it’s easier for me to focus on that. Look into trade schools and see if that’ll be a better direction for you to try vs a 4 year college. If you find a trade you are interested in you might have a better chance thriving on that one thing. Never stop learning no matter how small, learn something new every day.

you are so much more than your academics, always strive for the best version of yourself but grant yourself grace. you deserve to be here and your life is so much more important than a diploma
