Lake Mungo is not touching nor scary

r/

My title is a bit violent I apologise. I do know that a horror movie does not have to be scary at all to be good. I also understand that fear and emotions are subjective (I personally find The Fly to be one of the most romantic films ever made for instance).

I just deeply struggle to see the hype around Lake Mungo. A lot of people found it deeply scary or sad.

Maybe it is more “powerful” for people who believe in some sort of life after death?
