A mouse above my ceiling back when I was a teen. Took a video with sounds, told my parents, they didn’t believe me, and within a year we had a mice infestation
I heard a baby crying outside from my bedroom window at like 3 am. It just KEPT crying and crying. I went out and found it was just a fat ass Orange Cat.
Thought aliens were finally invading. Lit up the sky for miles and everything. Four big boom-zaps. Turns out a transformer blew up. It felt so electric being so close (no pun intended).
A coyote. They come down from the wooded area in search of rabbits, possums, raccoons, etc every now and again. Haven’t caused any trouble as of yet. Sometimes when I can’t sleep I look at my home security cameras and I’ll catch the occasional family of possums or raccoons walking around.
We camped out in a mate’s lounge room as kids. We heard noise at the front door so we all armed ourselves with kitchen knives. Then the dad came out, yelled at us for being ignorant and cowardly dickheads, then he went out the front to get the milk that had been delivered.
Well, besides all the times it was something innocuous, there was the time I found a young burglar trying to break in.
I opened the door very quickly and shouted “What the fuck do you think you’re doing?”
He was very surprised and scared, and blurted some bs story about “oh sorry, I’m drunk, wrong house,” and ran away as fast as his legs could carry him, vaulting the back fence.
Also once, a couple of foxes screwing, making a screaming racket
It was raining one night and I heard something thumping around outside. So I grabbed a flashlight and went to check and I saw a cat run off away from the house. With that mystery solved I went back inside and left the door open. I turn around and see that same cat peeking in through the screen door, and that’s how I got my cat.
The neighbor’s estranged husband showed up at her door real late at night and blew the top of his head off. I heard a faint pop, but man, did I hear her scream. It was a horrible situation.
I was living in NH at the time and heard what sounded like a young child screaming bloody murder in the woods behind my house, as I was sitting on the deck late at night. I thought, “that sounds like a fisher cat”. I decided to go on YouTube and search for fisher cat noises. Played one, confirmed it was the same sound. About 30 seconds later, I heard the same screaming but much closer. I elected to go inside.

9 times out of 10 it was my cat being an asshole.
The 10th time was usually him getting stuck somewhere.
Damn thing got stuck to the dishwasher once and wouldn’t stop screaming.

This was years ago when I was just a wee child.
Alright so I was house sitting a few months back in December.
Middle of the night like 2am, some creepy doll music, like a kids jingle started playing. Lasted 10-15 seconds and then stopped.
Keep in mind I had been alone in this house for two days at this point as my partner was away AND The house owners had been gone a month.
It came from the only room I hadn’t been in the whole stay which was their newborn baby’s room filled with toys.
I went through every single object in that room and tried to recreate the noise. I couldn’t. None of the toys made that particular song.
The house owners when they got back said it was just something that happens sometimes and they don’t know what it is.
Nope nope nope nope.

Had my doorbell ring at 1am, the doorbell was inside the house charging… Searched the house, nothing. Realistic answer is a software glitch
