It feels like the whole point of them is to hide away important info in the small print. For example, I was offered a referral bonus to switch to an app*, only for them to later reveal that the bonus came with multiple strings and conditions attached. I know this all was technically in the T&C’s, but I feel it should be more obvious. Most companies see it as a way to legally deceive customers, and when they complain to say, “you just haven’t read our hundred-page-long Terms and Conditions.

I know the reason we need to focus is because they use tricks, but they will continue to trick us either way therefore we should keep our eyes open. đź‘€
This is not unpopular.
It’s the law in some instances.
They wouldn’t be able to advertise some things without having somewhat of a disclaimer viewable. Much like yourself, this makes people think twice about being taken advantage of, and some people don’t care.
Some are terms and conditions, but sometimes it’s a legality that it cannot be without.
It’s not always deception, there are just “rules” companies need to follow.
