Listen. For most, weed is more tame than alcohol and they can work high as hell.
My brain, and I’m sure others, go into mental breaks due to THC. Like, full shut down. There is nothing pleasant or fun about it for a single second.
And weed folk love to say “you’re too sensitive!!” Or “find a better strain!”
Listen. No. My brain rejects all of it. I’ve tried many types, many tries to give it a fair sake. If I’m in a good or bad place, the brain says no.
Really wish people would make it clear not only can weed do harm, it can do serious damage to some people.
Should it be illegal? No. But there is a difference from someone acting dramatic and someone having a break. But weed is not as harmless as some say it is in the current rebranding campaign.

lol, weed opinion. just gonna spectate this one.
Agreed! I have friends who have gotten addicted to it. It’s not harmless and it’s not good for you.
I hate weed. I have the same experience
I can see why some would see this as unpopular but as a weed smoker I agree with you to a certain extent. It boils down to different strokes for different folks. Also there is a certain level of delusion that some have where they look at it as almost mythical in a sense.
Funny. I am a raging alcoholic and marijuana makes me not want to drink at all. People like me a lot more when I just smoke as well
I feel like people who are totally convinced about something tend to be a touch insufferable about it. Any bit of info that challenges them is met with dismissal or hostility. Some weed smokers are truly religious about it. It can do no wrong, it is all good no matter what. Everyone should smoke it etc. wankers.
Ok
I’m a smoker and recovering addict, 16 years, and I hate it when people try to tell someone that doesn’t smoke that basically you’re doing it wrong. Shut up, they said no, more for me. End of it. Same with alcohol. No one owes anyone an explanation. No=No.
Most people who are now chronic smokers used to experience the same thing in the beginning. I’m not saying you should turn into a chronic, I’m just saying with most substances, the tolerance goes up when you do it more often, and most people got high AF when they first started.
As far as being dismissive, it’s not just weed culture, it’s people in general. Have you ever talked to anyone who said chocolate was the best thing in the world? When you tell them you disagree, they have the same response verbatim: “You probably didn’t try the right chocolate”. It’s because of an inherent personal bias. People will quite literally use the same response any time you disagree with something they love.
It’s mind-numbing.
It exists everywhere and in everything. I live in the city and I have suburbanites asking me why I live in the city, and for me that seems self-explanatory, but I guess that’s my personal bias. Not everyone sees what I see, but the allure of cities seems pretty universal. I can’t believe I have to explain that to people.
Okay? So don’t smoke. Shit.
Why is that anyone else’s responsibility? Just because you’re a crybaby about it doesn’t mean others can’t enjoy it! Nooch!
Everything has its gatekeepers.
I smoke weed or eat edibles every day and while I thoroughly enjoy it, I agree with you. Yeah it’s “just a plant” but that doesn’t mean it’s healthy and good for you, smoke some poison ivy and I’m not about to light that up and send it into my lungs…
I see it as any other substance, some people are highly sensitive to caffeine, some it’s sugars, some have a reaction to even a single standard drink of alcohol, and others can’t breathe around the residual scent of tobacco.
Some simply don’t like those things at all and that’s fine, people just need to respect others’ choices and bodily autonomy and get on with life.
I’m not sure I’m familiar with “mental breaks due to THC. Like, full shut down.”
Does this mean you lose consciousness?
i agree completely. i was an everyday marijuana smoker for 10 year period, 20-30. but something changed and i just couldn’t handle it anymore. getting high made me anxious, paranoid, and just plain uncomfortable. my partner is an everyday smoker herself and she’s never judged me for quitting four years ago. she does comment sometimes about missing getting high together, but it doesn’t bother her at all that i can’t handle it anymore.
like you OP, since it’s legalized i’ve been able to try indicas instead of sativas, hybrids, edibles, all that. i just can’t hack it anymore.
Anybody who tries to put any pressure on another person to intoxicate themselves in some way or another is, what my people refer to as an utter utter tit.
I find THC really the only useful drug I have ever used, and I have tried a few in my younger years. A small amount of alcohol is useful in social situations for me because it lowers my social anxiety but there is a very fine line and if I go over it, I hate the experience. I won’t list my other experiences with other chemicals but the reviews range from, ‘didn’t effect me at all’ to ‘incredibly powerful stuff that was pretty fun but at most a once every few years thing’.
Unlike some people, I find THC to be entirely non-social. It’s something I might take if I have had a stressful few weeks and want an evening sitting on my own, relaxing, watching a movie I have seen 10 times before because I just want to let my mind wander for a bit. The worst thing that can happen is the doorbell ringing. I don’t want to have to deal with anything novel or unexpected.
Any kind of “drug culture” is tedious. I think sensible adults, without prior diagnosis of any physical or mental health condition that might be exacerbated by a chemical, are within their rights to experiment a little within reason. If, however, they decide, as you have, that something is not for them, anybody who takes it on themselves to try to convince them otherwise is… what my people also say, an utter dick.
Youre right on everything. Also, weed can do wonders. Its the only thing that calm my nerve pain. Weed is like alchool, some people cant handle it and its okkay. Sometimes its way worst for some individuals. Like any others substance that modify your behaviour, you need to be in a very good mindset and unstressed to be able to deal with it.
You not having a tolerance is not indicative that weed is harmful or does damage to people lmao.
Some people can handle their drugs, some people can’t. 🤷♂️
Finally a opinion i highly agree and is definitely unpopular
Ok so dont smoke it?
Honestly as someone who loves his Mary J, I think people need to understand that weed does have negative side effects most notably your brain development if you smoke young as well as minor lung issues and while it varies case by case if you have serious anxiety (like me) for some it calms the anxiety for some it’s made exponentially worse and can lead to serious panic attacks plus it can overload your senses
Yet people will say just because it’s better than alcohol that it’s fine and ignore these side effects and in some cases just straight up pretend they don’t exist as if it has literally zero negative impact on your body even though it does
