DAE not like the talking voices on there headphones?

r/

I have a pair of JBL Endurance Peak earbuds and Panasonic headphones too. They both have a voice that talks when they go on, “Bluetooth connected” and when I turn them off, “disconnected” and “battery medium”. Neither of these devices have anything to do with voice assistants or AI. It just feels unnecessary, annoying and is trying too hard. A simple beep when connected or a light indicator for battery level would be enough. In terms of design, it just seems lazy and not the sleekest way to communicate to the user.

I wish there was a way to turn the voices off.

My friend has a speaker that says ‘critical battery’ in a very seductive voice. It sends us every time. So unnecessary

My current headphones go “low battery, please charge” in this horrible robotic voice every 15 fucking seconds when the battery is low. It is the most infuriating thing in the world. I cannot finish whatever I’m working on, and god forbid I have messy hands, because the horrible robot lady needs to come scream in my ears about how the battery is low, please charge, and I need to rip the headphones out of my ears immediately so I don’t have to hear it again.

I know it’s a huge over reaction, but it’s just so annoying. Also like,,, I don’t need my headphones to tell me to charge them?? Just say low battery, I promise I can figure out the next steps.

My old headphones just did a little beep boop, and then fifteen minutes later did another beep boop, and then they died about a minute after if I didn’t charge them. Impeccable design. These ones…. ARG.

That is annoying. Do any of your headphones have an app? I’ve never had either of those brands but I’m wondering if there’s a setting you can turn off that way.

Mine sounds like the doom 2000 lady who says ‘worm sign’ so we’re chill

Omg I hate them. I’ll be relaxing with my sleep headband phones on and all the sound loud as hell BATTERY LOW!! Like bitch I’m up now WTF!

Mine has an adorable asian accent and I love her voice

I like mines because she sounds unenthused “battery 80% 😒 connected to iPhone 5 😒”

YES omg I didn’t expect to have an issue but I’m actually really afraid to use my headphones now. I bought them primarily for meditation music / subliminal / binaural beats. So I’ll be in a deep state of relaxation and then it says VERY LOUDLY “BATTERY LOW” and scares the shit out of me. I can’t use them anymore at all.

This is why I still refuse to buy phones that don’t have a headphone jack

My Samsung ear buds just have a “ding”, no talking. I definitely prefer it.

Go to the settings menu on your device. Navigate to the “Accessibility” or “Assistant” settings. Look for a setting related to “Voice control” or “Voice assistants.” Toggle the setting off to disable the Assistant for your headphones.

Totally agree those robotic voices ruin the vibe. A simple beep or tone would be way less intrusive and way more chill.

I fucking hate them. Just do the beeping alarm sound if my battery is low for god’s sake.

Meh. I appreciate the fact that they alert when my battery’s low or the like. A voice is much better than some high-pitched beep or series of beeps and much more clear as you don’t have to remember how many beeps means what. Kind of a small thing to let bother you.

Are you sure that the voices aren’t inside your head?
