Why don’t you put Shower Hose on Shower Heads?

r/

I find it impossible to clean intimate areas properly without Shower Hose. Especially ass.

However, in most places in USA, the Shower Hose was not present, but only fixed Shower Head.

How do you do it?

    Wash cloth.

Personally I installed shower heads with shower hoses at my house though.

  3. Kellaniax Avatar

My shower head is adjustable, it has a “hose.”

  4. jokumi Avatar

They sell ones with detachable heads on hoses in every big box store in the USA.

  5. rilakkuma1 Avatar

I agree. In my own apartments, I’ve always swapped out my shower head for a shower hose.

  6. yudkib Avatar

Put soap on hands. Wash areas. Put more soap on hands. Wash hands.

  7. National_Work_7167 Avatar

What are you talking about? Shower hoses are extremely common here. Where do you get your information from?

  8. slpybeartx Avatar

We have both a fixed “Rainfall” head and also a wand on a hose in our shower.

  9. Slight_Literature_67 Avatar

I have a shower head with a hose.

    1. Drive to Walfart/Target/Lowes/Home Depot (or order from Amazon or some shit)
    2. Spend like $40 on shower head with hose
    3. ???
    4. Wash ass

Sarcasm aside, the standard shower head is installed to keep costs low, unless you want to pay for the upgrade at build time. Some people don’t care about having a shower head with a hose. Others do. It is incredibly common to upgrade them in your house. I did it in mine.

  11. wapera Avatar

Some people just completely change the showerhead and buy one that has the detachable head

  12. Old_Cup176 Avatar

I just install shower hose whenever I move and they have a shitty shower head. Cheaper accommodation, such as lower rate hotel/motels and shitty apartments almost always have the shower head because it’s cheaper

  13. Amazing_Divide1214 Avatar

Most showers in people’s home have a handheld head with a hose. Are you talking specifically about hotels and stuff?

  14. Upbeat-Law-8944 Avatar

    Washcloth! Hands! Soap! Water!

  15. melodyangel113 Avatar

‘Impossible’? Did you try using a washcloth and soap and just…. Cleaning your ass? Idk how that’s confusing or hard. A lot of showers have shower heads with hoses and sprayers

  16. aenflex Avatar

We always use a hose attachment. Even when we buy a house that doesn’t have that, we just changed them out.

  17. hiirogen Avatar

Most homes, apartments, hotels have a fixed shower head by default.

But you can buy a handheld one, cheap ones are as low as $10-20 and go way up from there.

A couple times I’ve stayed in hotel rooms that were accessible for people with disabilities, and they had handhelds

  18. Hotwheels303 Avatar

As others have mentioned they’re pretty common here. Sold at just about every big box store

I’d like to know where you’re getting this information.

    sigh

    What country

  21. ScarletDarkstar Avatar

Showers in my house have them, currently. I think hotels/rentals go with a fixed shower head so people don’t get careless and spray water all over the place.

We have always used some type of sponge or washcloth though, which doesn’t leave me challenged to clean myself.

  22. JinNJ Avatar

My eyes played a trick on me. Thought OP was a lunatic for requiring a “shower horse.” 🤦🏻‍♂️😂🤣😂

  23. _takemeintotown_ Avatar

Myself and most people i know have a shower with a detachable head. But it’s also not that difficult to do without it.

  24. Mountain_Man_88 Avatar

Showers in homes often have hoses. Showers in hotels and short term rentals often don’t.

  25. OkConsideration9002 Avatar

    I don’t think they’re rare.

  26. ApprehensivePie1195 Avatar

We have the garden hose through the bathroom window.

  27. Emotional_Star_7502 Avatar

A lot of people have them.

  28. ridleysquidly Avatar

Hotels typically do not have shower hoses because they break easier and are more expensive to maintain.

Many home owners have them. Many renters install them but put the original cheap fixture back when they leave the apartment. Apartments do not come with hoses (see above reason for hotels).

They are common attachments. Possibly people don’t install them in their guest bathrooms because those showers get used far less.

  29. AffectionateTaro3209 Avatar

I don’t understand why you’d have a problem washing any area with a fixed head. I’ve certainly never had any issues. Maybe it’s mounted too high or something?

  30. TsundereLoliDragon Avatar

I stick my ass in the air like George Washington intended.

  31. TeddyRivers Avatar

I always install a hose when I live somewhere.

  32. FelisCantabrigiensis Avatar

    Bend over. Really, it works.

  33. VinRow Avatar

I always install a shower head with a hose.

  34. Mean-Math7184 Avatar

The shower heads installed in most apartments/spec houses are going to be “contractor grade”, which is to say, something of minimum acceptable quality that a contractor can buy in bulk to put in new work. Nicer showerheads all come with the hose/hand wand, but since that costs more, it’s up to the homeowner to pay for the upgrade.

  35. min_mus Avatar

We have hoses on both shower heads at our house…

  36. RodeoBoss66 Avatar

Oh well! I guess if it’s impossible you’ll just have to go back home to wash your ass!

Why don’t we do it? Because we’re Americans, and nobody tells us how to wash our asses, Jack! 🇺🇸💩🚿🙄

  37. TooManyCarsandCats Avatar

This is why we book a handicapped accessible hotel room if we can. They generally have big showers with handheld sprayers.

To answer the question, I’d assume it comes down to money, and to get clean, I just stand under the spray and get up there with a washcloth or my hand.

  38. MuchDevelopment7084 Avatar

In my case. I bought a shower head with hose. You can get them at any hardware store, big box store, walmart, etc.

  39. nyki Avatar

I’d have one if I owned my house but I’m too scared of breaking the ancient shower head in my apartment to change it. It’s not really necessary though, I don’t really struggle with rinsing.

  40. anneofgraygardens Avatar

    >However, in most places in USA, the Shower Hose was not present, but only fixed Shower Head.

premise is incorrect, this type of shower is extremely common.

  41. BreakfastBeerz Avatar

    A wash cloth or loofa.

  42. WiggWamm Avatar

You can bend over and use your hands to spread your cheeks for a perfect angle

  43. cdb03b Avatar

A detachable shower head is common. Particularly for older people or disabled people. I assume this is what you mean by shower hose.

  44. PaRuSkLu Avatar

I’ve never had a fixed shower head at home, unfortunately many hotels do this and I don’t get it. A detachable shower head is not expensive so I don’t know why anyone does this.

  45. nylondragon64 Avatar

This is what a wash cloth is for.🙂

  46. Cruitire Avatar

Everyone I know who’s house I’ve stayed at for as long as I can remember has this, as does pretty much every hotel.

  47. cbrooks97 Avatar

I’ve never felt I needed a hose to get any part of me clean. Perhaps water pressure just sucks where you live?

  48. nickheathjared Avatar

Bidet for the upshot. Washcloth with sudsy stuff for the scrubbins. Touch them toes for the rinsin.

  49. thatHecklerOverThere Avatar

So, one, I could just buy a hose.

    But a washrag is cheaper.

  50. Riker_Omega_Three Avatar

If you are asking why hotels don’t install detachable shower heads (that’s the phrase you are looking for…not shower hose)

The reason is because people will 100% steal them

Most hotels install the cheapest $3 shower head imaginable specifically so nobody will steal them. Also, the cheap shower heads will last forever and never need to be replaced. If hotels installed detachable shower heads, they would almost assuredly use the cheapest plastic ones possible (so people won’t steal them) And because they are cheap, they will crack and deteriorate which means they will have to be replaced.

At your average hotel like a Hampton or Holiday Inn…the shower head installed on the day the hotel opened will likely be the one in the room when it closes down.

Hell, if you ever get curious, try taking out one of the light bulbs in a hotel room

Hotels use GU10 base lamps…which use a positive and negative terminal connection instead of a screw in base lamp

    Why?

Because nobody has GU10 lamps in their houses. Its all E26 medium base screw in

So the hotel industry standardized on light fixtures and bulbs that nobody uses at home so people wouldn’t steal them

Plenty of people use detachable shower heads at home. But like I said. They tend to break and fall apart, get mildewy, and as shower heads in general, they tend to not perform as good as a really nice shower head.

So a lot of people just use a wash cloth or a loofa sponge

  51. Electric-Sheepskin Avatar

I think it’s typical in hotels, and lower end rentals to not have a hose, because they can be more expensive, and probably need replacing more often with heavy usage, like at a hotel. They probably create problems that landlords don’t want to deal with as well, like people having water fights with them and causing water damage. I don’t know. I’m just guessing.

But lots of people do have them in their homes.

I don’t personally find them necessary for washing or rinsing, though, unless I’m trying to not get my hair wet, but they’re great for washing the dog or cleaning the shower. For ass washing, I just wash my ass and then rinse it by letting the water run down my ass crack, spreading cheeks as necessary. No sprayer needed.

  52. CupBeEmpty Avatar

    [glances into shower]

[glances at hose shower head I got at the Home Depot 15 minutes away]

Looks like we do have them.

  53. Bluemonogi Avatar

You can go to any hardware store in the US and buy a detachable shower head or purchase one online. They are common enough and easy to install. We have installed a detachable shower head in our home bathroom.

Maybe you won’t see them at hotels.

If you mean something different by “shower hose” then I don’t know.

  54. Cheap_Coffee Avatar

I appreciate that this is a different take than “why don’t Americans use bidets?”
