This applies to coffee, hot chocolate, tea, and whatever else you may drink hot on a cozy rainy autumn day.
When it’s hot it just hurts, you can’t drink it for a while and are limited to small sips, and you might fry your taste buds off for some time.
When it’s lukewarm, you can take as many sips as big as you want, it won’t hurt, and it won’t incapacitate your taste buds.
That’s why I mix cold milk with hot coffee, to get it down to a human, drinkable temperature.
When I receive a hot drink that’s too hot, I just get pissed off that I won’t be able to enjoy my drink for another 5-10 minutes.

Regarding this, why do places like McDonalds serve the coffee as hot as lava so that you have to wait 20 mins to even start drinking it? Now that is ridiculous.

I guess im upvoting because this is a sin
You know there’s an middle ground between scalding hot and lukewarm, right? It’s not unpopular to want a hot drink that’s not so hot it burns your mouth.
I’ll do you one better; I normally stay away from drinking anything that isn’t cold. I wouldn’t say I dislike hot or lukewarm drinks, but I guess I’ve been conditioned since childhood to drink cold stuff. Ice cold water, iced coffee, iced tea, etc. (to which I drink all of these even when the weather’s like 5 degrees celsius)
STAY BACK 🫵😰
why does the body of your post say exactly the opposite of the title?
There is a right temperature for every drink. Lukewarm for anything is too broad and overstated.
