Why oh why is it always an appreciation week/day for someone??!
For example: nurses week, teachers week, administrative assistant day not too long ago, and the list goes on and on….
Very few people I know or work with who are gifted a small item on these weeks or days are actually appreciative of the gesture, it’s usually a complaint that the item they were gifted or snack/meal they were provided was terrible.
As if the company could afford to gift every nurse a golden stethoscope rather than the “nurses rock” badge holder they usually hand out…
As someone who lives in a free country (and I recognize not all do) where you choose to work at and the profession you choose is completely of your own free will! If you don’t feel appreciated you are welcome to go somewhere else at any time.
Nobody should have to give you a muffin and an appreciation week to make your life worthwhile. Just go to work and be unappreciated like the rest of us 🤷🏻♀️
