Biosyn stole most of their initial creatures from INGEN and later Masserani. They weren’t running a theme park but needed to grow the creatures to harvest materials from them. By comparing the living dinosaur DNA to modern genetic data, biosyn could then remove known modern genetics and be left with the altered original samples INGEN and Masserani developed. It’s a little complicated but basically they learned how to do what INGEN did by taking apart their creations. By breeding the different stolen dinosaurs Biosyn didn’t have to worry about accidentally losing their test samples.
Though I believe the Giganotosaurus was a whole cloth creation of Biosyn to prove that they could while also attracting investors who saw the T-Rex in INGEN labs and wanted something bigger and meaner looking. Wasn’t till later on that Biosyn got access to Wu and his knowledge of creating entirely artificial life like the Indomitus and Indoraptor. Once they had that everything they stole from INGEN is just an afterthought but already too much invested into it to just euthanize.
