TIFU By Not Stopping My Audio Recording

r/

I’m taking calculus II right now and we go over a lot in a short amount of time. The app I take notes on has a neat function where you can record audio as you write. When you play it back, you can see what you were writing at the time and add anything you missed. It comes in handy.

Yesterday was our mandatory discussion session where we meet with classmates and TAs to practice concepts. Our TA is super smart and goes through equations like he’s writing simple sentences. He has a lot of little tricks that the teacher doesn’t mention, so I’ve started using the recording feature to capture what I might otherwise miss.

It’s a short session, 50 minutes, with the lecture part being only about 10 mins. I guess I forgot to stop the recording yesterday, even though I could have sworn I stopped it. I know this because this morning in class, not only was my iPad and 30% battery, but opening the notes app showed an ongoing recording of over 1,000 minutes.

Stopping it showed me that I had left my device recording for over 19 HOURS. In the car, at home, while I was sleeping, the whole morning, everything. The worst part? This isn’t the first time I’ve done it.

Last year I left the recoding running for 7 hours. That’s chump change compared to now.

TL;DR I accidentally left my iPda recording for over 19 hours, drained my battery and feel like a fool

So the grander issue it caused you was some drained battery?

Disappointing. I thought your TA was going to hear you inviting your furry neighbor over to munch your butthole or something.
