have i fucked my life?

r/

hey i’ve never posted on reddit before but i just wanted to ask ppl who have no clue who i am as i’ve not really got anyone atm. i honestly think i have fucked my life for good ,i’ve committed an armed robbery on a shop i used to work at when i was a bit younger, whilst drunk and have been doing substances i told myself i would never do on a daily basis now and i don’t see a way out of my life rn. i’ve dropped out of college about four times and I just don’t know if I wanna do it anymore. I work part time as a KP kitchen porter so yeah if anyone is able to give me advice on what I should do now or next if you’re able to private message me or something that would be really nice.

You wouldn’t be posting this if you didn’t care – you are capable of making changes and getting on the right path 🙂

i think u are feeling a little tormented because you know what is right and wrong and u know what you need to do to change but it’s scary. it will be hard. i think a start would be trying to get sober. school is school. i dropped out too and im doing just fine. but that’s because ive found things in life to be passionate about. YOUR life can look how ever YOU want it to be. clearly you want to do better or you wouldn’t be posting this. you have the ability to pull yourself out of it. find what makes u smile. find what ur passionate about. gravitate towards people that lift you up! not tear u down. who you surround yourself with plays a huge roll in who u become/how u act. you can do this ! make the decision to leave the person u were in the past. every day is a new day

    Armed robbery definitely doesn’t look
Good on your rap sheet. Gonna limit you to what jobs you can get, but if you can pull through for 5 years and actually be a well behaved, sober citizen of society. And not keep breaking the law

The fire service will look past it – especially if you go to a rural department

And you can tell all the girls at the bar you’re a firefighter

At least you want to change, that’s not a small deal. As others say, drugs will be the factor that makes you win or lose this, but I understand it’s not as simple as deciding to stop.

Try and focus on something where you can support someone else, or something else. Like a voluntary thing which makes you feel wanted or needed. You need the threat in your head of letting someone else down, because letting yourself down will not be enough of a pull.

It might also challenge yourself to be around people who can help you, but also say hard truths to you. Groups and things can be helpful but not for everyone. You can find your own way to get that, so be creative.

Whatever you have done in life, whatever stage you are at, you can always turn things around and use your past problems as a platform to be an even bigger person. Owning your past is part of that, but everyone respects someone who can fight adversity and win through.

In order to stop doing drugs you need to develop a purpose or goal to work towered. In my experience the gym is a great start. Improve your body and your mind and establish discipline in your life.
You can make a change. You were strong enough to post this and your strong enough to command the life you want to live one step at a time.

congratulations on the strength to want to change. you can reinvent yourself right now if you choose. nobody gets it right man, you could move to a new place or just choose to be a new, better person learning from the past.

Hey buddy, I will first and foremost say, PRAY! God Himself Is your source! I’m a Christian, but by far, no where near perfect, a lot of times closer to destruction. And I do respect your honesty on here, that takes guts! I have to remind myself, that Christ gave it ALL to and for, me AND you buddy!
Hey. You have nothing to lose, and eternal peace and happiness to gain bro!
Gods speed to you buddy, I WILL pray for you!

First off, you need help if you can’t get off the drugs yourself. Depending on what drugs you are doing depends on the ease of getting off them. You have a job, and you see that you have a problem that says you are recognizing the situation is getting out of control. Look at your work health plain at work to see if they cover inpatient treatment. The first thing I did to get off the dope was quit talking and hanging out with those types, aka my friends. I had to change my whole circle. Hobbies and exercise and hiking are all things that are going to help. If it’s heroin then you are going to need to up your sugar in take because of the body dependants it developed from the heroine. It’s a one day at a time life. You are going to have to dig deep to find your inner strength to get thru this.you are a strong individual don’t wait till you’re rock bottom to recover its harder then.
