It’s a pretty good movie, which deserves more credit, but let’s not go overboard here.
Look, it’s a great movie and I’ll watch it any time I accidentally come across it on TV (yes, I’m old), but it’s not even in the top 5 Westerns.
Its a goddamn masterpiece as far as Im concerned.

I’m not much into Westerns. I love Back to the Future 3. It is the best western ever made. Like the hotel. I also really like Blood Meridian and am halfway through it.
When I was younger it was my least favorite of the 3 by far but over time it grew on me big time

Great one, this one had me think about it for a minute. I never thought of Back to the Future 3 as a western and more of a sci fi but really what makes it so great is that it’s both and for that its a damn good western. It wasn’t until firefly that I remember seeing it again.
All this proves is that you havent seen enough westerns
It’s a great movie but it’s really not a western in any sense but as a visual parody. None of the usual themes or tropes are present beyond those specifically referencing the genre like the whole thing with the stove body armor
