I’m sure they do this to be more efficient, but I don’t prefer it. Even if I’ve been somewhere a zillion times, sometimes I want to look at the menu for a second without someone standing over me. I also frequently take my dog with me wherever I go, and having to keep him away from the person while ordering and trying to pay is just annoying. (Save the comments about just teaching my dog to chill)
Edit: I did not mean to imply that I’m undecided when ordering. I meant when you pull up to other places you can casually take a scan of the menu before they take your order. I always am ready to order when they come to the window. Relax

I go as far as to say the drive thru should be limited to app purchases only.
Or have two drive thrus, one for cars that can’t decide / want to choose and putt around, and one drive thru for cars that have ordered and paid.
If you know they’ll take your order at the window, maybe take 5 seconds to decide what you want first.
I dislike it too. I also don’t care for the “my pleasure”. It sounds creepy.

Chick fil a menu is pretty much always the same and is pretty limited compared to other places. Sounds like you feel pressure to order quickly. That’s on you. Not others.
It’s not nearly as terrible as them saying your name like 4 times in a 30 second interaction. So insincere and off putting. I hate Chik Fil A honestly.

I’m not a fan either. I usually have my dog as well but now I just bring treats and use them as a distraction. Usually helps.
Sometimes it’s nice to decide last minute to grab food and I don’t constantly have my phone glued to face, so ordering in the app is stupid. I get it if you already planned to get food, but sometimes you’re on the road and want to grab a quick bite and can’t just whip out your phone while driving to order food. Personally I’ve only been to Chick-fil-A like 4 times, so i haven’t memorized their menu. I’m also not going to study it before going when they have a perfectly good menu at the ordering speaker.

I second this!! They approach you before you’ve even gotten to the menu. I don’t eat out that much and tbh don’t really know their items all that well. Is everyone else just a huge fan who has a set order?
You can look at the menu on their iPad they really don’t care if you take a second..
But also, it’s Chick-fil-A.. it’s not like they had a TON of choices..
