I was talking to my friend about how convenient it would be to have the power to turn things into gold, that way you can sell em. He mentioned what I hear all the time on the internet, which is that it would break the economy.
But from my understanding, the world is running out of gold. Even if it weren’t, just how much gold would it take for the market to start collapsing?? Because in my mind, whenever I think of having such a power, I’m not thinking of turning an entire city to gold just to sell it, I was thinking more on the lines of selling a gold bar once a month for stable upper class income.

Google says the market cap of gold is circa 22 trillion u.s dollars at the current price per ounce.
It would take a fucking lot just to nudge it.
