[TOMT] Looking for a 1990s Picture Book with a Girl, Large Eyes, and a Whimsical Imagination

I’m trying to remember the title of a picture book I read back in the mid-1990s, and it’s been driving me crazy! Here’s what I remember:

• Main character: A human girl with very large eyes and tiny pupils (the eyes were a distinct feature in the illustrations).
• Story: The girl has an overactive imagination and the story revolves around a day in her life. She might have eaten a giant egg for breakfast or something similar. There was also a part where she goes to school, possibly catching a bus after breakfast.
• Setting: It seemed like it was set in the present day, in a suburban or countryside environment. The backgrounds were minimal, with most of the detail and color focused on the characters and foreground objects. Everything in her world appeared larger than life or exaggerated.
• Format: It was a large, softback book with square pages and likely no more than 15 pages. The text was minimal, with a strong emphasis on illustrations.
• Possible theme: I think the story might have involved the girl having “the best day ever”, or maybe it was her birthday, but I’m not entirely sure.

Does anyone remember this book? I remember checking it out a lot in primary school, and it was popular among the other kids too. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
