Ladies, what is something you do that immediately makes you feel better? Could be cooking, working out, eating a specific thing, taking a certain supplement, hugging your pet, turning on a specific show etc.
As someone who has suffered from depression and is used to getting random bouts of sadness, I have learned to be able to sit with the feeling. But I want to expand my tool kit on how to then feel better.
I’d love to hear what works for you 🙂

I keep a list on my phone as sort of comfort blanket toolbox:
Good luck expanding your kit and do share what you do! X
Just being around my family. Â
We live far apart, so getting together a few times a year is so wonderful and precious.Â
Just move and go to a new scenery.
Our minds are best designed to evaluate and remember our environment. You remember most rooms you’ve entered in your life, while you struggle to remember facts (that’s why).Â
So just go to a place you’ve never been before and take it in! It can be a public building, a street you never go to, a shop you’ve never entered. Just walk, browse, watch, smell, get curious.Â
Edit: it will make your world feels wider, and take you away from the “me, me, me” prison thoughts.
Talking with my siblings about our childhood memories. We turn our shared traumatic experiences into dark humor and I feel so much better afterwards, sometimes laughing with them is even better than going to therapy… and I have an incredible therapist.
Making a cup of coffee and sitting down with my book instantly boosts my mood.Â
Hugging my husband.Â
Going for a walk.
Working-out or dancing! 🙌
Weed
Spraying perfume.
Eating my favourite take out meal alone in the dark after my kiddo has gone to bed.
Not to be cheesy but when my husband laughs genuinely? Omg the heavens open and the room floods with light. I love that man.
