Reading comments on forums like WIBTAH or AITAH you see so much if “Screw your family you have no legal requirement to do that so who cares”. The average person on here is willing to hurt friends and family and let them suffer because it saves them money or inconvenience but acts shocked some rich person behaves the same with regard to complete strangers and also only does what they are legally required to do. We are all awful and selfish.

Oh yeah there’s tons of disingenuous virtue signalling on here as well. AITAH is largely just dead internet theory at this point though, so I wouldn’t use that as a good example.
A lot of what you read on Reddit is fiction, is posted by a bot/troll/karma farmer, or is written by someone under 18. So I would take it all with a massive grain of salt. It’s like when you read comments about how people would react incredibly assertively or even aggressively on Reddit. Nah probably not, it’s internet tough talk. So I doubt that these people (the ones who are actual people) are like that in real life
