What’s one seemingly small thing you learnt from your last serious relationship that you will never do again?

For me it is- swearing at each other in arguments. Even once is not okay and sets the tone of your relationship forever. Speaking to each other respectfully even in the heat of arguments prevents the relationship degrading. Throwing daggers at each other leaves holes whether we admit it or not.

Whats yours?

I have to meet the character requirement to post so I will add another. Venting to others about your relationship if you go through a bump in the road. So many people slag off their partners amongst groups of friends, sometimes even strangers. A truly respectful union of two people is sacred, and should be regarded as such. Don’t invite other people into your privacy and love. It’s disrespectful to your partner and relationship. You are degrading it. Face issues with your partner as a team, not against each other and not with other people involved. With the exceptions of a best friend/family member.

TL:DR- something you learnt you won’t do again

I agree with you on not venting to others about my relationship because at the end of the day, I’m able to forgive my partner while my friends would start seeing him differently.
