TIFU by trying to see how it feels being choked on

r/

(TMI warning, puke)I was bored and mid 4 hour study session when I suddenly realised idk how it feels to be choked, don’t know why I wanted to know, I’m simply a stupid fuck. So I put my hands around my neck and start choking myself, felt how you’d expect it to feel, I continued out of curiosity and I start needing to breathe (obviously, what did I think was going to happen?) I don’t let go and suddenly A HUGE water fall of puke just shoots out of my mouth, onto my notes and my WHOLE LAPTOP SCREEN.The contents of my stomach, aka the huge cup of coffee I had recently downed goes all over my laptop, myself and my book, when I tell you, that was the moment I truly realised I lack common sense. That was by far the most embarrassing and shameful thing I’ve done in 2025.

TL;DR I choked myself and puked all over my notes and laptop, disgusting and shameful.

This reminds me of when I was a kid, I’d wrestle with my dad and always give him a bloody nose, so my mom told me we had to stop doing that. I didn’t know what a bloody nose felt like, so I sat on the couch and proceeded to knee myself in the face to give myself one. Was not a smart idea.

Don’t judge me for this, but I once tried to figure out what a panic attack felt like by hyperventilating in a crowded elevator… turns out, it’s just a really bad idea and a lot of sweating.

When I was a kid I too wanted to know, only I asked a friend to choke me (arm underneath neck headlock sorta thing). I told him I’d tap his arm to let me go once I wanted him to. He agreed.

My friend started doing it and I realised I couldn’t speak. Well, let me just say, my dumbass forgot to tap for like, 10 seconds. I thought my friend was just never going to let go and I’d die.

Eventually, my brain stopped being dumb and realised, “wait I didn’t tap.” I tapped and my friend immediately let go. That was like …. 20 years ago. Still remember it very clearly. Will never forget the feeling.

I see… what kind of choking experience were you going for exactly? Like, airway restricted type or blood flow restriction? 🧐

I also wonder how old you are, attempting such a thing on your own like that. 😅

this reminds of a game me and my friends would play in middle school. you would hyperventilate until you were dizzy and then hold your breath while another person pushed on your chest really hard until you blacked out. i have no idea why we did this but we thought it was so fun. eventually the game stopped when one of my friends hit her head on a tree root when she fell and she cut her face. her parents were furious and we all got in so much trouble.

I mean, at least you weren’t jerking it and then died. You might’ve ruined your laptop, but at least you weren’t found 3 days later naked with your hand on your crotch and a belt tightly around your neck.
