For people who like to watch the game, goalless draw is like a synonym for a wasted evening. I tend to disagree.
Great defence is as entertaining to watch as great attack and great goalkeeping too. Some of the most thrilling games I ever saw involved a smaller team parking the bus and defending for 90 minutes for their lives.
As long as it is not a goalless game just because both of the attacks are horrendous, I do not miss the goals in the slightest.

It can be more entertaining to watch a goalless draw than to watch something get to 7-0, because by 3-0 there’s a LOT less tension. Whereas there’s so much tension when its 0-0 because it only takes 1 goal to win.
If I wanted to spend 90 minutes watching nothing actually happen and everyone play hard defense I’d go into the office and just listen to people’s meetings. At least I’d be getting paid.
They can be, but it really depends on the game. A game where both teams create nothing offensively is boring. A game where a good offense is stopped by a stout defense can be very exciting
Games that are drawn or within one goal are often entertaining to watch
As a soccer fan I see some merit to this but ultimately disagree. Scoreless draws can be entertaining, I’ve seen some good and exciting 0-0 games. But they are in the minority in terms of games that wouldn’t have at least been helped by a couple goals.
If the final scoreline is 0-0 it’s more often than not going to have been a dull game. Not true if it’s 1-1 or 2-2, if you had just said draws I would be with you.
Football/soccer is never entertaining to watch. There, I fixed your title.
I mean a 0-0 with 3 total shots on target, all outside the box aren’t particularly entertaining.
A 0-0 with 1 team dominating play BUT the other team creating chances on the counter consistently, 10+ SOG. That can be a very exciting 0-0.
All depends on the flow of the game.
Soccer is one of the most boring sports to watch. I don’t know how yall do it. It’s almost as bad as watching golf
This isnt an unpopular opinion to people who watch football
Yes, it really shows me which people understand football and who hasn’t a clue when a game was 0-0 and exciting and they’re calling it a snore fest because no goal occurred. It’s like they have such a low football IQ that their monkey brain just wants to jump up and down for goals and can’t understand anything else
It depends, but your point can be true. Chelsea and Liverpool have played like 3 cup finals with a total of 1 goal between over the last 5 or so years and all 3 were very entertaining
To be fair, while you can get entertaining 0-0 games, most of them aren’t very entertaining.
They can be exciting games, but often? Not really, majority of the time it’s just two teams not able to string together consistent possession and just bashing into eachother back line to little effect
I don’t think those people “like to watch the game”. I think it’s more people who don’t and only wait for goals as a cue to cheer
A game gaving no goals doesn’t necesserily mean anything. A player can dribble 5 players, shoot at a crazy angle which the goalie only saves by tipping it with his fingers after jumping 2m in the air, it gets reflected to a guy 40m out who shoots and hits the crossbar. This would be a crazy sequence no matter that the score card doesn’t reflect it
I have seen good 0-0 games
I do prefer there to be goals, but 0-0 does not mean boring
Also i have seen some really boring gams that ended 3-2 or 4-3.
It all depends on the game.
