I recall it not doing very well before just because it didn’t look the same as regular Pepsi so it turned people off. Now with the health consciousness of people, excluding the syrup while maintaining its general taste would be a popular thing with today’s market. Clear sodas of all kinds are seemingly preferred nowadays compared to the ones with heavy syrups and artificial dyes.

It was back a few years ago. I don’t think, in this day and age, anyone who still drinks soda regularly is making health-based decisions on their soda choice.

I remember the crystal pepsi, know that I had it but don’t remember anything as far as the taste. kind of surprised they haven’t brought it back on occasion. LA Beast did a video some years back of him drinking a vintage bottle he bought online
No, that’s not why Crystal Pepsi failed. It was a concerted effort by the Coca Cola company that killed it. Coca Cola launched Tab Clear with the specific purpose to kill both of them. They heavily advertised Tab Clear as a zero calorie version of coke, which people back then really hated. People then associated Pepsi with that as well, and it died 2 years later.
It didn’t do very well because it was gross. End of.
It would just get lost in the sea of other gimmicky limited time sodas.

It would be popular because it would be trendy for a while then fizzle out. The product has to be good, bottom line.
It came back for a limited time for several years in Canada. Sold well the first year, did not sell well the subsequent years.

I liked it but I knew no one else did so I took it to every event I was sent to as a kid where we had to bring something to share.

Pepsi Anything sux. If it weren’t for the huge subsidies from the Salty Snack Division of Frito Lay, Pepsi soft drinks wouldn’t exist anymore. Pepsi, as a stand alone beverage company, can’t and hasn’t been able to make it on their own since the early 90s. Frito Lay saved their ass from Coke almost buying them out.
