But like…why? Like even though the idea of mustard on pizza makes me gag, it’s at least a properly different flavor. Why would you want a sweeter stronger tomato based flavor on something that is already covered in tomato sauce? Just sounds disgusting.

I think with a frozen pizza or a pizza I’ve made at home, dipping the crust in ketchup is fine. I’ve seen Italians dip pizza crust in olive oil from the table so it’s not like it’s a hard and fast rule.
I would never ask for ketchup at an Italian restaurant though, or at my Italian friend’s house.
Maybe don’t eat shitty pizza so you don’t have to dip it in anything

The disgust I felt reading this.
I was dating this guy for like 2 months, and one night we got pizza from a pretty fancy italian place. He had some leftovers and brought them back to my place after. The moment we walked into my apt, this guy set the pizza box down on the coffee table, walked straight into the kitchen, grabbed the ketchup, came back out and drizzled a few zigzags on the pizza before taking a bite.
I stood there in shock.
I broke up with him as soon as he was done eating and told him he had to leave. I don’t regret it, and I’d do it again.

Well ketchup is tomato, sugar, and vinegar, tomato sauce is typically tomato, sugar and an assortment of other spices. Really, all you’re adding to the experience is vinegar, would you dip pizza into vinegar?

I thought I heard this was popular in Brazil. In any case, I’ve had a “cheeseburger pizza”, probably from Papa Johns. It certainly had ketchup on it, and that’s the kind of thing I’d put even more ketchup on. Man, I’m getting hungry.
It is normal in romania. Probably other balkan countries too. Its…alright…but it depends what you have on your pizza imo. Sometimes the toppings just taste amazing, and you wouldn’t want to mute them

You would love to eat pizza in Brazil! They love mustard especially on pizza, but mayonnaise and ketchup are popular too.
This is absurd. I find ketchup people tend to do this to bland foods because of ketchup/vinegar addiction. Rice, eggs, potatoes, anything that’s white and bland gets ketchup.
Very similar to hot sauce addiction.
