It requires far too much vacuuming and shampooing, where a hard floor needs sweeping, mopping, and maybe polishing.
It’s more expensive. Vacuums, filters, shampoo for $500. Or a simple broom and mop for $20.
It catches so much hair, dust, dirt, and grease that you just can’t get out.
It catches stains and smells in a way that hard floors don’t, because you. can’t. clean. it.
Heavy traffic area? Rug.
Cold feet? Slippers.
Place to lay down? Cushioned mat.
Getting carpet is signing yourself up for permanent, and excessive work to solve small and passing problems.

How often are you shampooing your carpets???
Does anyone actually get carpet installed anymore? Seems like people only have it because builders use it for bedrooms since installation is quick, easy, and cheap for their crew….then owners replace it with something else once it wears out.
sorry that i like shuffling my toes through the carpets 😞 or shuffling in socks to shock people. cant have any fun here, i guess.
I think they are fine as long as you don’t have small children or pets. I can’t even have a rug since one of my cats interprets them as rug = toilet ðŸ˜.
