There is a school at the end of the street to my house. They have a parking lot to pick kids up from but some parents don’t like waiting so they block the road to my house to pick kids up. There is no crossing guard, it’s not a school zone but they will sit there for an hour around drop off and pick up time and block the entire street. It’s become a headache and honestly is very dangerous because the kids just walk right in front of moving vehicles and I can never get through during these times. Is there anything I can do to get them to stop? Location: Florida

In the road actually blocking it or on the side of the road where street parking is allowed?
If it is the first call the police.
If it is the second it’s almost certainly legal and there is nothing you can likely do about it.

I’d start by contacting both the local school board and elected officials. (Mayor, town council, whatever is applicable.)
If you can, get other affected neighbors to do the same. Frame it as primarily a safety concern for the children but also a nuisance to the community.
You may also want to talk to your local police as they’re typically responsible for traffic control. They may be willing/able to assign additional officers to the area and prevent cars from standing for extended periods.
