The term “brushing teeth” was coined by Big Toothbrush to slow advancements in the teeth cleaning industry

r/

You don’t brush your teeth, you clean them, & brushing is simply part of the process. Ex – you wash dishes; you don’t sponge dishes. The term “brush your teeth” is merely a ploy by Big Toothbrush to slow advancements in the teeth cleaning industry and to build dependence upon outdated technology. If there was no brush tooth, there’d be no tooth brush.

Pretty sure we’ve been “brushing” our teeth for hundreds of years, maybe even longer. Removing food and plaque is the main mechanism behind keeping teeth clean. Toothpaste is an added bonus.

The unrealized thing is you grind those plastic bristles down as you brush, and the micro plastic particles are absorbed right through your mouth walls.
    We need natural hemp toothbrushes.

And what is the modern technology that should have taken its place?

The real conspiracy is calling them teeth.
It’s to hide the fact that they are really mouth bones

Yeah because out of all the industries out there, dental hygiene is the most exploitable and profitable of all

Brushing is but one step in cleaning teeth. There is also flossing, rinsing, mouthwash, and all those things the hygenist does. So I’d disagree. But funny post.

Probably the most important concept in engineering development is creating the simplest, cheapest, and least expensive solution to a problem. That problem is physically removing food and debris from your mouth, which when left in a 98.6 degree bog overnight, creates a lovely feast for bacteria to feed on and decompose that material creating byproduct solutions which damage your enamel. A tooth brush is a very cheap, practical, and very proven instrument to remove that material and solve this problem.

A water pick is good, but not as simple and cheap a toothbrush. Other things exist, but still, what’s more viable for billions of people to use to break apart stuff inside their mouths? A conspiracy is anywhere you can create one, but I think this is just simple engineering. And something you may take for granted sounds like.

I’d be more concerned about a conspiracy to ban or slander toothbrushes to implement a more expensive and/or recently -patented- option.
