I am currently dating someone who loves going to ren faires. Not something I ever had attended prior but always willing to check out someone else’s passion/hobby.
I think it’s probably the worst way to spend a day. The people there are the least fun you have ever met, their entire personality seems to be wrapped in dressing in dubiously ‘historically accurate’ costumes, and shit talking about everyone else’s costume that attends. Everyone takes themselves WAY too seriously, and the entire event really seems to revolve around buying more crap that you won’t wear until the next event.
I would honestly prefer to spend the day in the DMV. The people are more fun (and that’s saying something), oh and there is actually some ethnic diversity.
