I’m not sure if it’s that unpopular, but as the title says I LOVE driving in the rain and it’s so fun. Especially while driving on the highway. I’m in no means a reckless driver and I’m very careful when it’s raining, but it’s thrilling in some way but also so peaceful.
What I don’t like is when the sun is hitting me in the face and the street is just a big area of light, but otherwise I really enjoy it

I agree, based on the state. If you drive in Texas, you’ll fucking hate it.
Both you and your car have reduced performance when it’s raining. You’re 7X more likely to be in accident when its raining. As such, nothing about it is “best”.
Like most things, other people are the problem if there is a problem at all. You could be carful and perfectly fine driving in the rain, but then we can’t have nice things because of the awful drivers…

I highly disagree. It seems like the asshole drivers are the worst when it’s raining.
In California, it’s a disaster. We’re all crappy drivers. When it sprinkles (not rain) there is always at least one or two accidents on the road.
Apparently, when it rains, the water lifts the debris from the road into a slippery oil sort of substance that tires have a difficult time breaking on. It’s why it’s suggested you drive slower in the rain. I think it would be pleasant depending on where you live, but for California–my experience at least–rain and drivers do not mix Haha
That said, I absolutely love walking in the rain! I love the rain in general

100 kmh in a torrential downpour is kinda fucked lol. You see a vague blurry outline of the road and that’s about it. I trust my ride though so that helps a lot lol

Drove through a tropical storm one year in Texas…slid right in between Austin and San Antonio. No traffic, was nice…
Drove in Iowa with buckets of rain and wind, we could only go 25 miles/hr on the highway and it toppled big rigs.
Please try that and see if u still like it. It was so scary that I pulled over and waited 30 mins. Others did the same
Ehhh… a light rain I can maybe understand. But no more than that to me.
Once visibility starts to disappear all of a car or two lengths in front of you, max wiper speed isn’t doing enough, and the other cars around you become even more untrustworthy than they already are… fuck no.

Driving in the rain is fun if it’s a little jaunt to the store a minute from your house.
But highway driving? When it’s a downpour, plus the mist being kicked up by the other cars? And visibility is maybe 100 feet, and then fade to gray?
Nope. That is a horrific accident waiting to happen.
