I ended a friendship with someone who was really flaky and only around when it suited them. At first, I felt guilty and missed them, but after a while, I noticed I was way less stressed and happier. It wasn’t easy, but sometimes you have to let go to make room for better people.
Quite a number were girls who looked down on me & never saw me as much (of a threat) and enjoyed telling me what to do etc. When I glowed up and started doing amazing things, they started becoming bitter and trying to tear me down, snarky unkind remarks etc. I understand they were probably insecure and projecting but I didn’t really need that competitive energy around me so I just cut them off and moved on.
It helps that I have many friends in different groups so if one doesn’t work out, I’ll just hang out with another group hehe
Ah for guys, it’s mostly just them being unkind or misogynistic or something silly, idk I don’t really have many guy friends.
