Last year I was dating a vegetarian (lifelong, had never eaten meat). He made me french onion soup that was absolutely delicious, and for the main he cooked chicken for me. I absolutely did not expect this and it really blew me away. It was absolutely delicious. When I asked him why he cooked chicken for me he said “I like a challenge” and winked. It was so hot
They fried their own tortilla chips and made salsa, homemade chimichurri paste for chicken and roasted Brussel sprouts. I never liked Brussels before that. I still think about that meal, more than the guy.
I was invited for dinner at my younger brother’s house and he pulled perfect chocolate soufflés out of the oven for dessert. I have a wider repertoire and a hit more experience but that really impressed me. He makes a mean paella, too.
My husband is an amazing cook. He makes a pan fried gnocchi with baby spinach, tomato, diced pumpkin and pine nuts that is to die for. I’m not even sure how he does it, but the olive oil we get just tastes better when he uses it.
I come from a long line of mediocre cooks so I feel like I was relatively easily impressed. I cook most because I’m unemployed rn but one night my husband made salmon and he got the skin crispy and not only was he soooo proud of himself, it was delicious! I tried to follow his method and it was not crispy and too salty. I’ll leave that to him

Anything. I just appreciate the effort since I’m usually the one that cooks.
