It’s cultural outfits. Bro wore a costume from a cultural medium the USA helped pioneer (superhero comics) but if you go online people would act like this guy personally wiped out a village or something

I would expect nothing less from a man named Mr. America.
God bless America, and god bless this man.
Just feels a little infantile.
As if he’s a boy who got to choose his outfit.
Can’t say that a uniform from the civil war or a Ben Franklin costume would have been better, though.
The US is pretty young, so maybe infantile is just honest. 😀
Silly costume for silly contest.
The English guy just wore a bowler hat. I’m more upset about that. There’s so much to choose from and he just wore a hat. Nothing really to do with England. And worst of all, the hat was a different colour to his suit.
No expert here but captain America isn’t rooted in any reality. We didn’t have a captain America ancestor with super hero powers whereas a cowboy is rooted in our history and culture.
The costume is for fun, people complaining don’t enjoy fun or happiness.
First, I didn’t know this thing existed. Second, I just went and saw the event of the competition where they dressed up in their cultural outfits. The way it is presented almost makes it look like everyone is making a caricature of what it is like in their country. We don’t have so much traditional clothing here in the US, unless it is a business suit or tuxedo maybe? Or maybe dressed has someone from the revolutionary war, I am sure the Brits would love that.
Anyway, who cares what he wears. He definitely need a few more super hero poses to go over the top, which he should be doing in this type of competition.
What could be more american than pop culture commercialism?
Superhero fatigue is real.
Honestly I can see the criticism. It’s so unispired to represent your country as a comic book character. If it was a super hero costume but an original creation I would be all for it but this? He’s just dressed as a product that belongs to a big corporation.
