What makes the “perfect” morning for you? And for women who hate mornings, what do you do to make it less agonizing?

The perfect morning involves a nice sleep in. Anything else is to be endured.

  2. angelarw8808 Avatar

The perfect morning for me is when I get to take my kayak out as soon as the sun starts to rise. No one else is on the water yet. The air is little cool. The water is calm and untouched. The birds are chirping. Once I’m in the middle of the lake I can enjoy my hot beverage. It’s my favorite thing to do.

  3. Mabel_Blossom Avatar

Coffee and vape. Not a healthy answer but makes my morning 100x better

  4. swim_and_sleep Avatar

Going out for a walk in the park with a coffee in my hands, better if it’s a foggy morning

  5. Severe_Panda_1197 Avatar

A day off, waking up before everyone so I can have my coffee in piece and quiet. Reading and just relaxing in the couch enjoying the silence. Then I make breakfast an hour later

  6. MeditativeMama Avatar

I typically get up very early, make myself a protein shake, and sit in the yard (weather permitting) with a book for 30-60 minutes listening to the birds.

Sometimes I’ll take my dog for an early morning walk when everything is still quiet, but getting fresh air first thing is something I prioritize because it sets a positive tone for my day.

All that said, on rainy days I’m more than happy to pull the blanket up to my chin and sleep in lol

  7. xallanthia Avatar

The perfect morning is warm, and I’m naturally awake early enough to have coffee and morning oatmeal while knitting on my patio before anyone else in the house is awake.

But overall, my best mornings come from preparation. If I have my clothes laid out and my daily necessities packed before bed, the morning will be much, much better.

  8. greengravypastasauc3 Avatar

I put on some music that i know will make me want to dance so i can get up for that instead of for whatever i don’t want to do that day

  9. DramaticBrat-Goddess Avatar

Having my fuzzy, soft slippers in the perfect spot on the floor so that my toesies slip right in. 😌- walking out of my bedroom and smelling coffee and bacon.
No one talking to me. No birds chirping. No cars passing by- just silence for a hour. 🌸👑

  10. CPolland12 Avatar

    I just like quiet.

  11. JaksCat Avatar

Cat wakes me up- but not too early (6 or 6:30). Make coffee, feed her, drink my coffee on the couch, she jumps up on my lap when she’s done eating. We both fall asleep and take a nap on the couch until my fiancé wakes up.

  12. thatkatrina Avatar

First, I am fully rested. I open my eyes to the smell of coffee, and a view of my honey with some herbs in hand. Curled up next to me is our kitten, purring softly. The honey asks me what I want to eat and today it is Eggo waffles. Some days it is eggs and fried salami. After our herbs are gone, the honey serves up my meds and heads to the kitchen. If the honey is in a good mood, he will razz me a bit. If I am in a good mood, I will razz back. Otherwise, I will grumpily remind him that I cannot be razzed in earnest before I finish my coffee.

I think my honey makes it less agonizing. I guess that’s why he is da honey.

Sleeping in and not waking up to an alarm lol. I’m not a morning person.

    My partner makes mornings better.

The perfect morning for me always vary but the most true indicator to me of something being a good morning/having a good wake up is when the temperature is perfect for me.

  15. activelyresting Avatar

    Sleep till noon.

Coffee in my pajamas on the back patio with my pups

  17. notfrhere Avatar

    For me it’s a slow morning, having a delicious treat/breakfast & then a bike ride/exercise with a J

  18. Nox002 Avatar

My perfect morning happens a lot. it is when I wake up quite early before work (I WFH), cook my favorite breakfast, put on harp music playlist and enjoy the breakfast while looking to the greenery outside. I absolutely love the morning calm when neighborhood is mostly still sleeping and I can enjoy it alone. In summer I can sit on my balcony and in winter I can watch sunrise😊 After that I always feel calm and ready for the day.

  19. drunkenknitter Avatar

Sleeping in til around 9, rolling out of bed and having some coffee. Then maybe strolling down to a pub and having a big ole full English breakfast while watching some footie.

Unfortunately that only happens once a decade or so.

  20. CrowCelestial Avatar

I set my coffee pot to brew 10 minutes before I wake up. I love waking up to the smell. I take the puppy out and then sit on my front porch in my rocking chair for about 20 minutes before I clock in for work.

Now, the perfect morning would be someone bringing me coffee in bed and my front porch looking out to the ocean or a mountain view but I’ll take what I can get.

  21. SnookerandWhiskey Avatar

Having adequate sleep, its having at least one and a half hours of nothing before I need to leave the house. I like waking up slowly, just lying down, reading, watching a show (which I don’t do in the evening), just turning on some music, getting up slowly, do yoga, taichi or stretching, casually having breakfast, watering my plants and drink my coffee while mentally preparing for the day… and then do all the necessities, slowly. I don’t really mind at what time I get up, sometimes I sleep less than 6 hours, but I would rather have this than sleep longer.

  22. Such-Swimming2109 Avatar

For me, it’s when I have time to do my full, non-rushed hair and makeup routine while listening to music and having coffee.

Bonus points if it’s a weekend and I can wake and bake lol

  23. marriedtomayonnaise Avatar

Allotted cuddle time with my husband. Then cuddle time with my puppy. Some matcha and a breakfast that doesn’t make me gag. Sitting down to eat with my husband. Then start the day.

The most perfect morning but life is so fast I can only manage a kiss and a toast on the way. One day, this will be me everyday.

  24. Puzzleheaded_Net_759 Avatar

    Coffee, weed, and silence

  25. PancakeQueen13 Avatar

There’s a very short window in the year where it’s not too cold and not too hot, and I can enjoy my coffee on the balcony. That’s about right this time of year. Getting to be out when the birds are chirping is so nice.

I hate mornings, but I’ve tried to make a point of waking up earlier so I can ease my way into the day. It helps to not feel so rushed, especially before work.

  26. [deleted] Avatar

Waking up at sunrise or just before, watching the sun come with a cosy blanket in colder seasons, a good meditation, waking up to the sound of rain is a good one too or the sounds of loved ones, time to have a home cooked breakfast. If I can have all of these on a morning that’s perfect but if I have just one that’s good too.

  27. DaMeLaVaca Avatar

Waking up to a clean house, the kids are still asleep so I can do my Bible reading and have my coffee, prep everyone’s breakfast and feel like I start the day ahead instead of behind. When I feel constantly behind the only thing I want is to sleep until I wake up.

  28. Annual_Extension_104 Avatar

getting up early to go to the gym and then having a really yummy breakfast and spending some time outside ❤️

  29. Sapphire_Dreams1024 Avatar

I hate mornings, but using music to get through it helps a lot. I have different playlists that have different vibes, and I pick each one depending on how I feel that day. If I want a really calm start then its instrumental studio ghibli music, its also great for getting chores done

  30. ReptarrsRevenge Avatar

my perfect morning is waking up slowly when my body naturally wakes up, no alarm, nowhere to be. snuggle & lovey time with my SO before we get up. shower, make coffee, get back in bed for another hour or so to rest more/plan my day. THEN get up and get ready to face the day. that’s what i do on the weekends. i just love laying cozy and resting before having to go anywhere or interact with the world.

  31. Are_You_Knitting_Me Avatar

Waking up naturally but a little on the early side (maybe 7 or 8), a nice instant vanilla latte and a book under a blanket on my couch, padding to the kitchen for a bagel and cream cheese around 10, not seeing or interacting with anyone this entire time.

I have a 23 month old so it’s been… 23 months since I’ve done this haha. One day I’ll have a teenager and we’ll both be sleeping in!

  32. Horror-Account-3025 Avatar

Perfect morning is waking up next to one of my fave people and lounging in bed and laughing a bunch. Then having them heat up brunch for me on the most thoughtful way – not the easiest way – and enjoying that together.

  33. helic0pter96 Avatar

Put on YouTube while I’m getting ready, put on songs I can sing to in the shower ♡ and also if my hair comes out great, that’s a cherry on top

  34. JoyfulNoise1964 Avatar

Perfect morning is no obligations before noon, coffee and reading beside my guy with a little chatting

  35. WrestlingWoman Avatar

When the morning coffee is spot on and a cat is curling up on my lap at the same time. Perfect.

  36. Simply_charmingMan Avatar

Walking her to her car as she heads off to work, then calmly make myself an expresso and sit down in front of my pc and read the news…I got peace and quite from 8am till 7.30pm.

  37. 2020grilledcheese Avatar

My perfect morning is waking up and going on a walk with my soul dog. It’s the best part of both of our day. Then I come back and chill until I either get ready for the gym or work.

  38. miss_rabbit143 Avatar

No alarms to wake me up in the morning, the weather being a perfect 22 degrees C, a coffee and cigarette in my hand reading a paper on my rocking chair.

  39. whatwhat612 Avatar

Wake up without an alarm, nobody needs anything from me, beautiful weather, fun plan to look forward to that evening, quiet time to sip coffee and read a book.

  40. staeples Avatar

i love when i naturally wake up early, while its darker in the mornings, probably around 5-6. have a small cup of coffee and a filling breakfast, do a few house chores while its quiet, and fall asleep again around 7-8.

  41. laviebomeme Avatar

I wake up and don’t have anywhere to be so I can snuggle back into my bf’s side and doze for a while, the perfect iced coffee, morning beach walk

  42. OftenMe Avatar

I hated mornings for decades, but after three years of being on a team with a significant European contingent, my body clock shifted and now I love them.

As for what makes for a “perfect” morning…

    • Waking up naturally 30 minutes before my alarm goes off.

    • Waking up to an OK or better hair day.

    • Having the first outfit I put on look great.

    • Silence.

    • A great dog walk, which means great weather and a happy spouse to join me.

    • A strawberry banana smoothie.

Except for the weather, all of these happen several times a week. It’s rare that all of them happen on the same day.

Now that I’ve made this list, I’ll be watching out for the grand convergence.

  43. mourningstarxxx Avatar

yesterday after sleeping in till 10 on my day off, i spent my first two hours awake completely naked, so.. that was pretty nice. i plan to do the same thing this morning with a glass of iced coffee and maybe a blueberry muffin

  44. TintarellaDiLuna Avatar

My perfect mornings always feel like one specific morning I had when I was 5 or 6 years old.

We were visiting Grandma and I’d woken up at the buttcrack of dawn, as usual. Everyone else was asleep but Grandma was awake. We grabbed some donuts and sat outside in her garden, eating and watching the hummingbirds. I was a talkative kid, but watching nature waking up around me was like magic, and it had me captured in this hushed awe the whole time.

I still like to wake up before everyone else and sip coffee in the sun room. The sounds of the birds, the wind rustling through the tree;, it’s all so peaceful and it sets a really calm vibe for the rest of the day 🙂

  45. Present-Body7905 Avatar

definitely when i dont have work and i can wake up without an alarm

  46. Radiant_Western_5589 Avatar

Honestly a good bye/good morning kiss to my partner. I like that it starts my day letting the person I love most know that I love them.

  47. VegHeaded Avatar

Coffee and the NYT Spelling Bee in my jammies.

  48. PopcornSquats Avatar

I start my morning with what I call “gentle putzing” which is me slowly doing things around my apartment like getting the dog breakfast ready, tidying up my place , making myself coffee , slowly wandering a bit just doing whatever besides sitting right down.. I also try not to look at screens for a little bit .. after putzing I sit and have screen time , have water, have a little to eat then get my but ready to go to the gym ..

  49. smokeehayes Avatar

When he sleeps in. No drunken yelling because his abandonment issues are triggered when I’m not always in the same room as him = immediate peace. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

  50. midnight-maiden Avatar

Cuddles with my baby, a hot cup of coffee, a cozy blanket and a book.

  51. spaghetti_monster_04 Avatar

The perfect morning for me is not having to be awake so early. If it’s after 11am, well past noon, and I can still sleep in, it’s the best. Yup, I am not a morning person, but I have a 9-5 job. Thank goodness it’s a wfh job, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to function. I transitioned from an on-site job to a wfh job.

Sit in my bed with my coffee and read Reddit for hours. Also lots of cannabis.

  54. watertown1990 Avatar

I am actually a morning person but I do my best to wake up cheerful

  55. nooutlaw4me Avatar

Sit on the couch until I’ve had about 1/2 mug of coffee.

  56. aimeelles Avatar

Coffee, quiet, and a sunrise make my morning perfect.

  57. cheekmo_52 Avatar

As an older woman, I no longer have the ability to sleep in. When I was young my answer would have been that the perfect morning is one I slrpt through. Now I’m up super early regardless of whether or not I am free to sleep longer. So these days my answer is a slow morning. Time to make a hearty breakfast, sit and enjoy it, and curl up with a cup of tea and a good book for an hour before I need to get moving.

  58. LullabyThBrezsWhispr Avatar

A quiet morning walk with my dog and an uninterrupted workout and shower before getting my daughter up. When I don’t get this I feel all off

  59. Prislv223 Avatar

I actually slept. First sip of Coffee. And if the spirit moves him Breakfast in bed.

  60. KimmyWex1972 Avatar

Perfect is when I can get up when I want and once I’m up, have a cup of tea alone.

  61. Paola666 Avatar

I have to get up every day to get my son ready for shool. It’s like… a never ending circle. I hate mornings so its pretty fucked up.

  62. LaundryAnarchist Avatar

Getting ready in my own time frame. Making coffee and sipping it instead of chugging it down and hurrying up to get into the shower and getting ready for work. Doing a few chores here and there with a good show on in the background just for noise.. oi..that’d be so nice

  63. whyareyoulikethisr3 Avatar

I agree that the best morning is one where you sleep in. HOWEVER, failing that, I do enjoy a leisurely morning. Waking up earlier than I need to, beating rush hour, going to my favourite café, ordering chai and a criminally delicious cinnamon roll, and just relaxing before my day really starts.

  64. Bre4kLykA_4thWall Avatar

Getting woken up by the sun. No rush. Have Piero Piccioni playing in the background as I make breakfast and drink coffee while scrolling through my phone.

  65. pplb2020 Avatar

Waking up without an alarm. Making a latte. Watching some type of home improvement show. Taking my dogs for a walk in the forest.

Just doing things at my own pace without an urgency.

  66. Aurora_96 Avatar

How do I make mornings less agonizing? I skip them if I have no obligations to attend to.

  67. smallpie4 Avatar

My perfect morning? One where I don’t have to participate. But until I can retire at 35, I bribe myself with fancy coffee and pure spite.

  68. bearfam1 Avatar

Perfect mornings > sleeping in, waking up with sunshine through my windows, getting to take my time getting cuddles, slowly making breakfast (breakfast in bed)
Weekday mornings > get my fave iced matcha and breakfast potato bites on the way to work, play my fave podcast, way less agonizing

  69. Orual309 Avatar
    1. Sleeping in with no alarm

    2. Coffee on the porch

    3. A croissant

    4. Poetry

  70. minxwink Avatar

Pilates or yoga stretches with the bats under inky early morning skies and a shooting star among the silvery wisps and puffy plumes. Grinding coffee beans for a fresh pour over to enjoy from my fave Fellow vessel on the scenic sunrise drive to work later. But first, the last sips of AG1 and adaptogen matcha before a shower karaoke sesh and slipping into a super c*nty/glam ‘fit and fresh, natural makeup. There’s no traffic to dim my car karaoke joy with the moon roof open because it’s 7am and I’m the first one in the mf office 😤. How satisfying to unlock the glass doors and soak in the magnificent downtown view and fire up my computer as I decide which architecture book from my personal library to read later during my lunch break. The sun is rising and so am I.

PINCH ME I SLOW BURN MANIFESTED THIS LIFE 😭✨
