Im writing a sympathy card to an upset customer whose daughter just passed away and her husband passed a few months ago. We had a bad interaction and I feel horrible, and I want to write her a card to say sorry for her loss. I have no idea what to say, what would you want to hear in her situation?

I usually just say something along those lines, “I’m sorry for your loss.” I’m not sure there are really any better words to offer.
Saying anything is better than nothing. Just not-it’s a part of Gods plan or any crud like that. So sorry and a nice memory
Honestly, with what she has going on, plus your bad interaction on top of that – don’t put her through more of anything, just fade out.
“Is there anything I can do in your time of grief?” is good. You don’t have to “apologize” for her loss, you can acknowledge it, but just an offer of kindness in the middle of grieving should be ok.
