If your boobs hurt/are tendered it’s a sign you’re pregnant. My sister and I both get that when we are menstrual and everytime we tell someone this its always “oh that’s a sign you’re pregnant, you should go get a test.” Sometimes they just hurt man doesn’t mean im knocked up.
That absolutly anything that could be wrong HAS to be localized in the genitals and no where else. We’re more than just our vaginas and uteruses and other systems can break or not work as well and it has nothing to do what is happening inside or falling out of our nether regions. Once they hear I’m not pregnant or on my period they need to move away from that place and look at where I’m saying actually hurts/is the issue. Not keep questioning because they think I’m lying or don’t know the difference between period cramping pain and a bullet in my leg.
That birth control will magically cure your PCOS. Everybody’s appears differently and is caused by a variety of reasons (that’s why it’s called a SYNDROME) and birth control is not the cure all for all symptoms someone might be experiencing
Anything research backed or evidence based. Women weren’t required to be included in clinical trials until the late 1990s so a lot of drugs potentially only work well for men.
That women thrive on things like veganism and salad heavy diets. It’s not repeated so much as marketed by influencers and advertisements—clean girl eating and all that. When in reality we are very prone to iron deficiency anemia and what women should be doing is eating more nutrition and iron dense proteins like red meats
That women get loose the more they have sex. I am so sick tired of hearing people perpetuate that myth. My own husband had thought that was true. I had to walk him through the logic of that.
I asked him if he thought women got loose over time from having sex what did he think happened to the vagina after women gave birth. Did he think it just stayed a gaping loose hole? His response. “I thought labor was a special circumstance.”
So wait, you think that the body can recover from the massive stretching and tearing that is childbirth, but a penis is somehow so devastating that a woman’s vagina will be forever stretched out by one?
Yeah, he quickly realized how dumb that belief was and felt stupid for thinking it was true for so long.
That birth control is bad bc it’s “not natural” particularly when an influencer says it. It’s just a personal choice that no one needs to justify other than yourself and your doctor
That being emotional or anxious is being a drama queen or “that time of the month.” Believe me, I hate crying when I get upset, frustrated, or even tired. I would rather not, but the little guys in my brain keep smashing the waterworks button.
I keep seeing people try and say women have higher testosterone during their period and tell men they should realize we are actually “acting like men” during this time.
This isn’t true. Testosterone is highest during ovulation not during your period. All reproductive hormones except progesterone are highest during ovulation
Menopause does not make everything instantly better. There are stages and hormone therapy during active menopause does not mean a cure.
Also perimenopause can start as early as 35 and in women who have had hysterectomies it can start even earlier. The symptoms can range from sleep disturbances to itchiness to muscle pain to weight gain.
Osteoporosis, which can be a huge problem during menopause, is not talked about enough and women should take bone health so much more seriously.
That the pooch of fat just below your bellybutton is your uterus (it’s not) or that the fat there protects the uterus (it doesn’t) or that the fat there is so your stomach can stretch for pregnancy (it’s not)
My period stopping just because I was overweight – I have lost and gained throughout the years, but while in the same weight that I was told this (even though this issue with my period had gone on my entire life…) I suddenly got my period after like 6 months and it lasted for 2 months. Ever since, regardless of what weight I’ve been, it has been normal.
That menopause is “no big deal.” I keep my thermostat at 61 degrees, year round, plus have 2 fans pointed at my bed. My poor kid has to sleep in ski wear. 😂
That menopause is just hot flashes and mood swings. There are so many different symptoms and some ways to manage them that is only just being talked about now because women are doing the work to learn what works for them and spreading the word. We need more medical studies…
“are you sure it’s not just anxiety?”
I had excruciating pain in my stomach and my shoulder, I couldn’t keep anything down, I had horrendous reflux.
“It’s gas”, “it’s anxiety”, “you have a shoulder sprain”(I didn’t. But they gave me a sling anyway), “maybe you’re allergic to whatever you ate/drank”, “well I’m not doing any scans because that’s just extra work. Here’s some Prilosec”, “I’m not giving you pain medication”(that I didn’t ask for), and so many more ridiculous things. 8 years and a quick ultrasound later, they did emergency surgery to remove my DEAD, full of stones gallbladder that was causing infections, causing my liver to swell because I had an intrahepatic gallbladder (attached to the liver), causing my white blood cell count to skyrocket to the point they did a dozen different blood tests to check for CANCER.
Almost a decade of begging for help when it would have taken a 5 minute ultrasound to take care of the problem and save me a DECADE of pain, ER visits, doctors appointments, blood tests, fear.
People just need to start listening to women when we say something is WRONG.
that insane theory that every time a woman sleeps with a man that his DNA stays in her for life. the dorks in the manosphere have latched onto it and it’s spreading to a worrying degree
I swear… I once read a Reddit post from a girl who was pregnant. Her partner didn’t want to have sex with her, because he thought the baby would grab his penis (something his friends told him if I remember correctly). I wish I could find it back to reference it, but it was such a ridiculous thing and this question instantly made me think about that! So that.
That every single ailment—physical and emotional—a woman feels between the ages of 45 and 65 is related to perimenopause or menopause. I know that these are under researched, but I think the pendulum has swung a little too violently the other way in the last five years.
That you have to wear bras or else they will start to sag. It’s just not how breast tissue works, sagging is cause mostly by pregnancy changes, smoking, and just simply aging.
That women’s vagina gets loose from having multiple partners (but years of sex with one partner will not cause loosening).
Right – so specifically different penises cause muscle to just …. Fall apart. But the exact same action, the exact same number of times = magic vagina preservation.
The offensiveness of sayings like “it was like throwing a hotdog down a hallway”.
Number 2 on my list – bigger breasts make more milk. Doesn’t work that way.
That birthing should be “natural” & without medical intervention. That’s fine if you’re happy with infant mortality rates being 1 in 10 again & maternal mortality rates being back up to 1 in 100?
Thank you! Years ago I was in law school and I suddenly started to get unnaturally tired, which soon morphed into my randomly passing out, abdominal pain and constant low grade fever. 3 different doctors insisted it was stress and anxiety from being a law student and all three prescribed me either anti-depressants or anti-anxiety meds. My best friend’s dad recommended that I see his regular doctor who also happened to be an infectious disease specialist. Turned out that I had such a severe case of mono that I had encephalitis and a swollen spleen that was getting extremely close to rupturing. He hospitalized me immediately, I had to take the rest of the semester off, and it took me 6 months to even begin to function normally. It never would have gotten to that point if any of the other 3 doctors took my symptoms seriously.

That any sort of “women’s health” marketed washes and cleansers specifically for your vagina are a good thing.
That every illness is caused either by anxiety or our weight.
Women overreact about health problems.

Periods are dirty

that it’s “just part of womanhood/being a mother”
that literally kills ppl by ignoring their health risks bc they’re a woman or mother or afab
“6 weeks pregnant” is actually four weeks after conception.
A month and a half makes it sound further along.
That extremely painful periods and excessive bleeding are “normal”.
God forbid you have stomach problems, they’ll.say you are pregnant.
that our bodies were “made” to give birth.
That your lower stomach having any shape to it is because you have a uterus. There’s nothing wrong with having a stomach! And! It’s not your uterus.
yes. it’s always ”hormonal”, until it’s hormonal for real, then it’s all ”depression” and ”in your head”
I’ve been told that the best way to get rid of pcos, endo, pmdd, depression can all be cured instantly and permanently if I just get pregnant 🙄

Having sex makes your vagina loose.
That little lower stomach pooch is just your uterus pushing forward.
That’s not how anatomy works

If a woman says she has cramps and can’t work, that she’s over exaggerating her symptoms and they aren’t “that bad”
That painful periods are normal.

That a UTI is a sexually transmitted disease, and can be contagious.
That squirting isn’t pee.
that you can get pregnant 24/7 all day every day. I wish sex-ed would teach kids and mainly girls about the menstrualcycle and fertility propperly!
Also the pill isnt a one size fitss all wonder drug against all possible health issues
That you can’t get pregnant while breastfeeding. It’s so much bs.
HRT causes cancer
That menopause is “no big deal.” I keep my thermostat at 61 degrees, year round, plus have 2 fans pointed at my bed. My poor kid has to sleep in ski wear. 😂
That HRT isn’t helpful or that it’s dangerous. All based on one flawed study 20 years ago.
That women have a lower paid tolerance. I truly believe most men haven’t felt real pain in their entire lives.
That women’s periods can sync up with other women who they spend a lot of time with.
HRT causes breast cancer

That depression is something only women suffer from and so it makes it a mood.
ive seen men online genuinely say douching is a safe and effective way to clean your vagina, and in fact if you don’t do it, you’re dirty and gross
Now, there may be men who have faced this but I feel if they have the percentage is low.

That women have hymens that gets ”popped” when you lose your virginity.
Hymens don’t exist.
That getting an IUD doesn’t hurt that much. I know this varies from woman to woman, but it was the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life.

That you should be using feminine wash or special soaps on your hoo-ha 😵💫 especially the heavily scented ones. Pls make it stop.
Period cramps aren’t that bad, you can just deal with them
