I found out my dad cheated… because he used my email to message his mistress

r/

This one still has me reeling.

So I (21f) have been home from college for a few weeks. I let my dad borrow my laptop while his was being repaired. I guess I forgot to log out of my email, and one day I noticed a bunch of weird draft messages I didn’t write.

They were… graphic. Flirty. And addressed to someone named “Lena 💋.”

I confronted my dad. At first he said they were old messages between him and my mom. Problem? My parents are divorced. And my mom’s name is not Lena.

Turns out my dad has been using my email to talk to his mistress because he thought it’d be “less suspicious” than his own account. He said I “shouldn’t be snooping in things that don’t concern me.”

MY email. MY laptop. MY name on the account.

I told my mom. She was furious. Apparently this mistress is someone he cheated on her with before they separated. So now I’m the digital middleman in their mess.

Hot take?
If you’re gonna be shady, at least have the decency to get your own damn Gmail.

It became your business when he decided to use your laptop and email account.

Wait, if your parents are divorced, who is he currently cheating on that he couldn’t use his own email to communicate with her?

Using your account was dumb, but am I misunderstanding the dynamic? If they’re divorced, why does it matter?

“This one has me reeling…” sounds like the start of AI fiction. Why start a personal story as if you are a third party merely observing?

Im not sure I understand, your parents are divorced and he is cheating on her?

How is he cheating on your mom if they’re divorced? How are there people not picking up on this? What’s with the sudden rash of “Hot take? <insert here>” posts?
