Hi Morgan & the THT fam. long time fan.
Looking back, i probably should’ve minded my business, but were here now so i’ll give you guys the scoop.
For context, I work in a busy night club, i bartend, & my coworker is security, let’s call him Adam. I don’t know Adam very well beyond seeing him throughout the years with us both working the industry throughout the years at various bars, and hearing about him through the grapevine.
A couple nights ago i had a night off & i went out to my job. I was tipsy boarding drunk (maybe 3/4 shots deep) when this girl came up to me & said “i always see you behind the bar, but never out here, im Adam’s girlfriend” we exchanged niceties & then she asked me if id ever seen him do anything unfaithful, which i have…the way he acts you’d think he was single. I asked how long they’d been together & she said the whole time hes been employed & that they live together. Well, the liquor got to me & i ended up telling her what i’d seen. I see now looking back that i probably should’ve minded my business, but my instinct was to be a girls girl. Still, now things are messy, Adam is going around telling nearly everyone he hates me & that i’m a bitch. Should i feel guilty? Should i apologize? Just kinda looking for some feedback as i am starting to feel a little bit bad, but id also want to know if i was in her place.

Be more specific about what unfaithful things he does at work.
Nope don’t apologize or feel bad. You did the right thing, as she deserves to know who she’s involved with. Now she can make an informed decision about her future and her health. Who knows if he brought any STDs home. If he didn’t want her to know he’s a scumbag maybe he shouldn’t be acting like one.
Most places worth their salt don’t allow employees to drink there during their off hours, and this is one of the reasons why.
Yes, telling was technically the moral thing to do, but it will undoubtedly cause drama at work that you’ll now have to navigate.
Of course you did the right thing, he made the mess, expected you to cover for him? F that
