I thought Brazil under Lula Silva was progressive and pro-Palestine, why he does do that against indindigenous people using Israeli technology?

Lula isn’t a dictator. Brazilian institutions are what they are, not even 25 years in power can really change that in a proper legal system. Presidents barely have any power in Brazil these days anyways.
Lula is roughly equivalent to Democrats in my country and most Democrats minus the younger progressives unanimously support Israel

Just to clarify, are you aware that the chief of executive doesnt decide absolutely everything in a country? The armed forces have their own autonomy for procurement of equipment and material. That out of the way, I just would like to say that even having voted for the guy, I dont agree on most things. Also, fuck the israeli government.

I might get downvoted to oblivion but that’s the truth about Lula. He has never been on our side unless we’re useful to him in some sort of bargain deal in exchange of power. FHC’s economic legacy and the commodities boom set a perfect stage for him to be as populist as he could, back then such measures were essential for him to remain in power and pave the way for oncoming allied governments but today we’re seeing him for who he really is, inept as a president and only able to articulate with fellow politicians. Progressive measures won’t get him what he wants anymore.
This has always been the case since union days, workers were used to bargain with companies and factories in the ABC Paulista. My father himself had inumerous meetings with Lula back in the 80’s/90’s and has always seen his true colors. The agreements set with companies after massive strikes were often terrible for the workers but meant power for his party and his friends.
Brazil uses this technology for surveillance against illegal loggers, drug trafficking and “grileiros” (people that illegally occupy government land)
The government also keeps track of the uncontacted tribes and their numbers to be sure that they are not being wiped out by disease or killed by the people mentioned above.
It is no wonder that people with no contact with modern civilization would be scared, they often throw arrows at planes passing by. That does not mean that the government is harassing them. And to what end would they do that? Just to fuck around? These people have no power whatsoever and the real threat to them are the illegal activities that the government is trying to prevent
Lula is critical of Israel, but Brazil still supports the two state solution and recognizes Israel as a sovereign and legitimate country. Maybe you are letting your own biases get in the way and can’t see the situation clearly.

Not everything is up to the president, and our military/police forces are in general very right wing, and right wing Brazilians are 100% pro Israel, unfortunately. Bolsonaro even tried to do the trump move and recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, but we sell to much meat to Arab nations for that to be possible.
On the indigenous note, yeah lula is supposed to be the progressive guy and he is not doing enough
